As I look at the faces around me,
people with different background

I also hear the different language

In a distinct way that we learn

we live in harmony

1. Describe the main character in the
movie you watched
Sam Dawsom
Sam, a loving
father of Lucy,
a mentally
challenged man
who has the IQ
of a 7 year-old.
He raised her daughter by himself for
seven years even if he has a difficulty.
He also works at Starbucks and is
obsessed with Beatles.
2. What was his
exceptionality?
Sam was mentally retarded.
Every time he thinks, he looks up above. He
has fine hand tremors, or plays with his
own fingers sometimes. He also likes to play
with his tongue. Many times, his mouth is
always open when someone speaks to him, or
when he listens, or if he looks at something.
He walks in a different way too.
3. What problem/difficulties did
the main character experience?
When her daughter Lucy reaches the age of
7, she intentionally did not do well in
school because she don't want to look
smarter than her father.
Department of Children and Family
services take Lucy away from him because
of his condition. They also tried to place
Lucy with a foster famly.
4. Who provide support? What support did
he/she get from his/her environment?
Rita, a lawyer, takes Sam's case for free
and help him keep his parental rights.
And at the end, the foster mother realizes
that Sam does truly love Lucy and is a
fitting parent so she surrenders Lucy to
him and says she will offer her support to
him at the court hearing.

Surf the internet for the Son-
rise program for autism. It is
based on the life changing
experience of Ron Kauffman
who had autism but recovered.
Most practitioners believe that
autism is incurable, but the

approach. Read about it and
write a reaction paperon it.

Son-Rise
PROGRAM FOR AUTISM
The Son-Rise Program was created by Barry
and Samahria Kaufman when their son, Raun, was
diagnosed as severely and incurably autistic. Raun
was just a young boy when he showed symptoms
and signs of autism. He acted both deaf and blind,
and rocked and stared in silence for hours. The
doctors have given up hope for him because they
thought that autism was incurable but not his
parents. Instead of being discouraged by all the
facts that they’ve heard, his parents insisted on
searching the light of that dark tunnel.
I am amazed as to how much Raun’s parents
love him. They never looked at him with fear but
viewed him with wonder. His parents looked at
him with possibilities but not deficiencies. It is very
heartwarming to see his parents showed passion
and commitment by entering the world of Raun.
They focus their energies, time and effort to him
even though others told them to give up. I found it
inspirational especially to those parents who also
have a child with autism. Seeing this testament
that love is powerful motivation that can conquer
all challenges. I wonder if all the parents are like
that, maybe all the children will grow and pass on
to others that love that they have received.
I personally believe that any person, when
given the right amount of care and attention can
overcome obstacles in life. All people deserve to
live a happy and meaningful life full of love. The
story of Raun’s breakthrough just inspires me to
overflow the love that I have received from my
parents and from God.

GAGNE'S
CONDITION OF LEARNING
This theory states that
learning occurs in many
various forms or stages. The
value of these classifications
is that certain forms of
instruction need specific
categories. Gagne recognizes
five major learning categories:
verbal information, intellectual
skills, cognitive strategies,
motor skills and attitudes. For
each form of learning, specific
internal and external
requirements are needed.

HELP ONE TO BE AN EFFECTIVE
TEACHER
It provides a step-by-step
approach that can help teacher
to get the best possible learning
experience.
This can also be a checklist to use
before the teacher begin in
teaching activities.
Great way to ensure an efficient
and systematic learning schedule,
as it gives the lesson plans a
framework and a balanced view
of the teaching.
Analysis
ADVANCE ORGANIZER
1. Why was the advance
organizer presented before the
discussion of the topic?
-So that the learner can have an idea on
what to expect in the lesson
2. How can the advance
organizer help the students?
-It allows the students to have a bird's
eyeview or to see the big picture of the
topic to be discussed even before going
to be detailed. It also reminds the
students of what they already know and
help them organize the new information
they’re about to take in.

Theory
In Ausubel’s Subsumption Theory, the
learner absorbs new knowledge by linking
it to current concepts and ideas already
learned by them in the past. It is when the
learning becomes meaningful by
combining and relating the new
knowledge to the past knowledge.
