Functions of art

Art serves many different functions, which are typically divided into
personal, physical and social functions.

Physical functions :
Applying art physically is known as physical function. For example, in
earlier days, people used to design and decorate their tools artistically.
Here, artwork is imposed directly onto a physical object with a specific
function, these pieces of art have physical functions. Another physically
function is architecture and design of buildings and other structures.

Social functions:
Social functions are some of the most common functions of art. These
types of artwork are intended to convey some sort of message, often of a
religious or political nature. It symbolizes strength and power.
Advertisement, satire, graphical expression are examples.

Personal function:
How a person expresses an art in his/her own way is called Personal
functions. It is difficult to characterize and explain. Because every person
has a unique way of understanding and expressing art. Painting is an
example.
