INTRODUCTION TO REPORT

The case study and SWOT analysis on Jagatpur lodge by Annapurna presents the strengths,
weakness, opportunities and threats by the help of this report. This is a quick overview of the
larger body of this whole report. As we know that SWOT Analysis is a strategic planning tool to
evaluate internal and external influences upon a common vision or a specific goal. Jagatpur
lodge by Annapurna SWOT analysis review provides a comprehensive insight into the resorts
history, business structure, operations with detailed SWOT analysis information on resorts key
competitor and major products as well as their services. This report includes company’s
background, my experience on the resort, SWOT analysis, conclusion and recommendation and
references in detail.

COMPANY’S BACKGROUND

Jagatpur lodge by Annapurna hotel is located by the Rapti river, on the edge of the UNESCO
World Heritage site, Chitwan National Park. The lodge combines the natural beauty of its
surroundings with an understated elegance. The lodge nestles in more than eight acres of jungle
grassland. Modern amenities abound including Wi-Fi and HD televisions all supported by
impeccable caring service. It is the world of jungle camps and safaris from days long ago backed
by all the comforts of the modern world.

The lodge has seven tents imported from south Africa which are home to luxuriously appointed
rooms with en-suite bathrooms. These rooms may seem like five-star hotel rooms that just
happened to be housed in a tent in the jungle. But the character and service evoke the timeless
courtesy and style of the days of maharajas and kings sited on raised platforms, each tents have
its own private viewing deck and the view is one as if the time stood still. The vista roams over
meadowland to the river and the national park beyond. A mugger crocodile may float in
deceptive idleness by the riverbank or the greater one-horned rhino, deer and a flutter of birds
wander past in sublime indifference to the humans nearby. The room facilities have air
conditioner, complimentary water bottle, garden view, toiletries, tea/coffee, shower, high speed
Wi-Fi, jungle view, ironing facilities and daily housekeeping.

The lodge is conveniently located and gives easy access to all the significant places to visit in the
area. It is fully prepared to host gatherings, annual meetings, conventions and event banquets.
This Jagatpur lodge provides activities like canoeing, village walk, jeep safari/whole day park
excursion. Bird watching, bullock cart ride, nature walk, reptile walk etc.

MY EXPERIENCE ON RESORT

As for my experience, the lodge is located in very nice and peaceful place to spend the holiday
here which surrounds beautiful nature, lush green forest, lots of animals seeing in banks of river,
crocodiles walking in the riverside, with very good food and great settings. We were given the
tours to the whole resort facility where I could everything that we can ask for a gate away.

First we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Rayamajhi and we were served with a welcome drink
and warn wet towels. The staffs were very helpful and were always smiling. They were very
descriptive with the information about the facilities services and other information as well. They
were a source of constant information. The attention to the details was amazing in all areas of the
lodge. The gardens were pretty. The dining rooms were filled with good smells and warm
lightings.

In a nutshell, it was quite an experience for me as I like that kind of peaceful areas with lots of
adventures. It is a deadly combination and fusion of adventure and luxurious experience in the
wildest forest of Chitwan National Park. So, I was definitely star stroked with what I experienced
in the lodge and I would definitely visit the lodge in near future and recommend it to my friends
as well.

SWOT ANALYSIS

STRENGTH:

Strength are defined as what the lodge does best which can beat their competitors. The Jagatpur
lodge by Annapurna’s main strengths are as follows:

 Ambience:
Jagatpur lodge is known for the ambience and the serene atmosphere that they provide to
their guests. The lush greenery, spacious rooms and well equipped tents and well
landscaped exteriors and the natural beauty are a relief to the guests who are in search for
a gate away from the hectic daily life.
 Business Philosophy:
The business philosophy of the Jagatpur lodge are centered around core Asian values
such as respecting, courtesy, helpfulness, selflessness and above all sincerity. These
values make sure that every guest of the lodge are treated with a lot of concern courtesy
and respect which is the highest importance given for the top quality service.
 Service:
Jagatpur lodge is famous for the quality of the service which plays a vital role in any
hospitality business. The guests are given a lot of personal attention. The decorations of
the lodge are very eye catching which gives a warm feeling to the guests.

WEAKNESS:

Weakness are used to refer to the areas where Jagatpur lodge needs improvement. Their
weakness is:

The lodge has a lot to focus on maintenance of the facilities, gardens and amenities which
are very high in cost. The lodge also have to source and train their employees on a regular
basis which also plays an important role as a high cost factor. To maintain the gardens,
flowers and outdoor furniture also can cost a fortune.

OPPORTUNITIES:

Opportunities can be referred to those avenues in the environment that surrounds the business on
which it can invest to increase the revenues. The opportunity includes:

 Changing market trends:

People these days prefer a quiet place where the nature is at its best. The hospitality
market is changing drastically. The guests are willing to pay for more value added
services. The younger generations as well as the frequent travelers prefer these kind of
the lodges because they want to experience some natural beauty rather than living in posh
hotels facilities.

THREATS:

Threats are the factor in the environment which can slow down the growth of the business.

 Competitions:
There are lots of resorts mushrooming and booming up. So, the competitors can be a
greatest threat to Jagatpur lodge by Annapurna.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Jagatpur lodge combines the natural beauty of its surroundings with an understated
elegance. It is a great place with nice ambience, service and is filled with the adventures.
The strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis is done to know
more about the lodge. With strength being ambience, business philosophy and service.
The weakness of the lodge is it has a high cost maintenance. The opportunities to invest
and increase the revenues as the market trends are changing and lastly the threats which
slows down the business is the competitors the Jagatpur Lodge has.
The Jagatpur Lodge needs to know the changing market trends and focus their target
markets with more marketing to make the property known to the people who are willing
to pay for the services. It would not only benefit the business but it can actually become
well known lodge among its competitors because of the services are excellent.
In conclusion, Jagatpur lodge is a beautiful property with a deadly combination and
fusion of the luxury and adventures at its door. Basically it is a great eye capturing
property with a lush green forest, lots of natural beauty surrounding the area and a perfect
destination for a short holiday in the lap of the natural beauty.
