Practical 1

Aim: To study implement and practice fragmentation and partitioning of disk and
Installation of linux operating system.

Objective: To install linux operating system by fragmenting and partitioning disk.

First Choose the language:


And then select the device type as basic storage devices and click next:
Set Root Password:
And then select Custom layout:

Select the space Then click on the create button:


Then click on the Standerd Partition and click on the create button.

You need to assign swap memory first so Select the swap option and assign the size as 1024:
Again click on the space button:

And select Boot option and assign the size as 100 mb:
Then give all the space by clicking ‘/’ as home:

Click Next button:


Click on the write changes to disk:

Click on the next


Select the Desktop option and click next:’

After installing red hat accept the terms and condition and set the username and password:
Conclusion: Learned fragmentation and partitioning of disk and installation of Linux
operating system
