MODERN DANCE COMPETITION
1. All participants of the competition must be bona fide USePians of the USeP – Bislig
Campus.
2. The entry should have a maximum of fifteen (15) members and a minimum of five (5).
3. Participants maybe all male and female or mixed.
4. The dance piece is composed of latest dance hits of either plain or mix of hip-hop, pop,
jazz, and swag (Rock Music)
5. All music tapes and CD’s and other required materials must be submitted on October 12,
2018, morning before the contest proper.
6. Performance time should not exceed five (5) minutes and not less than (3) minutes.
7. A three (3) point deduction for the general score will be given for every exceeding
minute of the entry and also for the delayed presentation due to CD and music error.
8. Dancers should be in costume or related attire to “ROCK” or get up and should conform
to normal standards of morality.
9. All dancers must be ready at all time. They should have their warmed up ready to
perform at least 1 hour before the performances. If postponement happened after the
calling, another three point’s deduction will be given.
10. Use of props will be allowed as long as it will cause any delay or harm to the rest of the
performing groups. Props of fires, broken glass, sharp objects and the like are prohibited.
Violation of this provision shall mean disqualification of the group.
11. All participating organization must have one (1) representative at the committee table
during the competition.
12. All participants should conduct themselves in manner displaying good sportsmanship
throughout the competition. They must follow rules and regulations; failure of such will
result in disqualification.
13. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.

Choreography - 40%
Execution & Difficulty of Movement - 30%
Originality - 20%
Costume & Props - 10%

MTV SPOOF
Mechanics:
Each Organization is composed of a maximum of 10 members and minimum of 6
members shall present a MTV Spoof performance.
Each Organization shall be given a minimum time limit of 3 minutes and a maximum
time limit of 5 minutes to perform.
Each performer shall be given a preparation time of 30 seconds before their performance.
Music must be related to the motif which is “ROCK”.
Musical materials or soundtracks must compose of only one (1) song. Remix of multiple
songs is not allowed.
Musical materials or soundtracks must not contain any unpleasant words or concept.
The use of props are not prohibited but should not cause any harm, casualties or delays
for the next performers.
Musical materials or soundtracks to be used must be submitted to the Committee
Chairman four (4) days before the event.
Failure to comply on the said mechanics is subjected to 3 pt. deduction.
If participants fails to present their entry after the Hosts have called them twice (2) is
subjected to immediate disqualification.

Entertainment Value -------- 50%
Audience Impact -------- 15%

ROCK BAND
MECHANICS:
1. There should be one entry per organization.
2. All band entries shall be composed of 4 members.
3. Members of each entry should all be bona fide members of the organization they are
representing.
4. Each Band shall be given a minimum time limit of 3 minutes and a maximum time
limit of 5 minutes to perform.
5. Each band entry shall perform one musical piece- one Rock Music. Metallic songs are
strictly prohibited.
6. Each band group is given a 30 seconds time preparations before the actual act on the
stage or performance venue.
7. Musical pieces should not contain any unethical words & verses & (foul words,
explicit contents, etc) if the piece does contain the said prohibited lyrics- please do
change or do not mention at all but see to it that the real meaning and the real impact
of the original piece is preserved and is not altered.
8. Failure to follow the above mentioned mechanics could mean an automatic
disqualification.
9. Judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.
