Brooke Shaden
Brooke explores the darkness and light in people, and her
work looks at that juxtaposition. As a self-portrait artist,
she photographs herself and becomes the characters of
dreams inspired by a childhood of intense imagination and
fear. Being the creator and the actor, Brooke controls her
darkness and confronts those fears.
After studying films for years in college, she realized her
love of storytelling was universal. She started photography
then in 2008, excited to create in solitude and take on char-
acter roles herself. Brooke works from a place of theme,
often gravitating toward death and rebirth or beauty
and decay.
Ultimately, her process is more discovery than creation.
She follows her curiosity into the unknown to see whom
her characters might become. Brooke believes the greatest
gift an artist has is the ability to channel fears, hopes and
experience into a representation of one’s potential.
While her images come from a personal place of explor-
ation, the goal in creating is not only to satisfy herself; her
greatest wish is to show others a part of themselves.
Art is a mirror for the creator and the observer.
Brooke’s passion is storytelling, and her life is engulfed in
it. From creating self-portraits and writing to international
adventures and motivational speeches, she wants to live a
thousand lives in one. She keeps her curiosity burning to
live a truly interesting story.

Foteini Zaglara is Conceptual/Fine Art Photographer based
in Athens, Greece. At a young age she found a way to
express herself through self-portraits. She aims to tell
stories about imaginary worlds and her images provide
mysterious and dark commentaries on the human

Laura is a 1990 born [self-] portrait-artist from Southern
Germany. Besides photographing projects she teaches
workshops, gives inspirational talks and travels to all over
the world – always searching for magical places and special
light. It’s her clear visual language, the power of telling
stories and showing raw, honest emotions in her photo-
graphs that makes her work stand out. She is convinced
that photography is a type of therapy that gives you the
ability to heal yourself and others.

Lídia Vives
Lídia Vives (1991, Lleida) studied Fine Arts and is
currently working as a fashion, musical bands and
artistic photographer. Her work is characterized by
the pictorial environment, the use of color, to hide secrets
in her pics and the dreamlike quality that manages to
convey.
When she creates a photograph, her main interest
is not only the technical effect, but also the anecdotal.
Her goal is to make people interpret her photographs,
to create doubts. The viewer is forced to look photo-
graphs for a while to delve into history. The idea is to
make it disturbing, it seems that the character will begin
to move at any time, to make clear that they are only one
frame of a sequence. She doesn’t want to create scenes,
but new worlds.

Simone Betz
Simone Betz, the heart and soul behind ROVA FineArt, is a
fine arts photographer specializing in digital and analogue
surreal portraiture.
Simone was first introduced to photography when she
borrowed her dad’s old camera for a summer school class.
Developing in a traditional dark room, she was intrigued by
the intimacy and mystery of the process. She had her first
exhibition at seventeen, showing a collection of double
exposures of organic shots of her family and strangers at
different ages. She traveled internationally taking portraits
as a professional photographer. She then began experi-
menting with formal conceptual shoots, using organized
settings and posed models to bring into the visual world
her interior ideas and imaginings. Her work has since
reflected her signature blend of dreamlike formality. She
currently takes portraits and self-portraits, developing
them into surreal images to access the emotional aspect
of the image and tell a deeper story.
Philosophically, Simone approaches her work through
the Buddhist concept that all life is in a state of flux—even
something seemingly motionless is in a state of change.
The stillness in each of Simone’s pieces shows a deeper
movement of inner life. She works to touch the people. She
photographs, helping them discover their own story and
become more empowered. With Simone, photography isn’t
simply an image, but a transformative process.
