Preface
This syllabus has
been prepared and
produced against the
background and the
needs of the structure
of the revised School
Curriculum
of January, 1997 and
the implications of
localising Grade 12
Examinations.
In preparing this
syllabus, particular
consideration and
emphasis are given to
the usefulness and
importance of
mathematics in
everyday life and to
the educational needs
and national
development.
Furthermore, the
syllabus offers pupils
background
knowledge for further
studies in
mathematics. It also
offers the teachers
specific objectives
which will help them
determine the scope of
the content to be
taught. It will further
help the learner to
develop an analytical,
creative and
constructive mind.
pment Centre gratefully acknowledges the contribution of the Mathematic's working committee and ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
