This document provides instructions for an activity to have students plan virtual trips to cities in Colombia. It involves organizing students into groups, having them use a travel planning appendix to design a 6-day itinerary for their assigned city, then creating a Google Slides presentation to share their plan with classmates. Task #3

Category: Teacher’s corner

Name of the resource: Travel and Tourism
Class objective: How to plan a vacation
Level: Fundamental plus 4
Unit: 11 lesson: B
Description of activity:
For this activity I will apply the planning a trip strategy on the teacher`s corner resource.
1. Organize them in groups of 3 with pictures of cities from Colombia.
2. Give them a copy of appendix 1: travel plans (page 2-3)
3. They’ll have to plan a six-day travel plan to the given city using the appendix and have them be specific, in names
of places, hotels, etc…
4. They’ll also have to use the grammar from the lesson using: can/ can`t, have to/ don’t have to describing the
information in the appendix.
5. After they have finished their plans, take them down to the multimedia room, say that they’ll prepare a presentation
using https://docs.google.com/presentation/u/0/
6. Have them divide the tasks, each student can present on two days of the trip, say that they’ll use the same link of
google docs and work cooperatively in creating their presentation, have them add lots of images, and maximum 12
slides.
7. Next, have each group come to the front of the class and describe the travel plan they made to
the rest of the class, they’ll use student show in x-class so everyone can see their presentation. Choose a group
that will prepare some questions during their presentation and then interact with each other, do so with the other
groups.
8. After each group has presented their travel plan, have the class vote on the presentations. Which travel plan was
the best? Which was the most adventurous? Which was the most historic?
