Lab 2: Exploring Circuit with TinkerCad


1. Instruction:
 The objective of this lab is to provide you with exposure on electronic circuit using web-
based circuit simulator using Tinkercad.
 You need an Internet connection to complete this lab.
 You should be able to complete this lab on your own within 2 hours.
 Please write a half-page self reflection on what you think about Tinkercad.

2. Task:

Step 1: What is TinkerCAD?


TinkerCAD is a free online service for creating basic 3D shapes and developing digital pro- totypes of
electronic components. These pro- totypes include basic circuits with LED lights, buzzers, switches,
and even light sensors.

Step 2: Creating an Account

To get started with the simulator, go to https://www.tinkercad.com and create a free account.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll to taken to the Tinkercad dashboard. In the menu on the left side of
the screen, click ‘Circuits’.

Step 3: Complete Starter Lessons

Go to this page https://www.tinkercad.com/learn/circuits/learning and complete all four lessons


under Starter Lessons:
 Start Simulating
 Editing Components
 Wiring Components
 Adding Components

These starter lessons have step by step instructions and will provide you with basic understanding
on how to use the TinkerCad Circuit, and basic electronic.
