AIF 1606 Modification of The Unloader Valve On GA315-500 (W)
AIF 1606 Modification of The Unloader Valve On GA315-500 (W)
1. Subject
Risk of S3 (OIS-Q1 or OIS-Q2) element failures during prolonged unload running on the
GA315-500 range due to insufficient lubrication.
.
2. Reason
The Size 3 (OIS-Q1 or OIS-Q2) element failures occur during unload running.
It is always the upper part of the element (inlet element) that fails.
In order to avoid failures the unloading pressure in the vessel needs to be increased to
assure that enough oil is going to the upper part of the element.
To achieve this higher pressure the disk inside the unloader valve need to be replaced.
The new disk has two nozzle holes of a diameter 8.4 mm instead of a diameter of 7.6 mm.
