Waterbase Intumescent Paint

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Aqua Flame WB is one component asbestos free, halogen free, Water base intumescent coating to
assess fire protection performance on power cables in accordance with a range of standards,
providing up to 1 to 2 hours protection.
Aqua Flame WB is a acrylic latex emulsion with excellent resistance to weathering and aging, which
remains highly flexible once cured allowing for the cable movement. It is suitable for interior and
exterior applications.
Aqua Flame WB will also prevent short circuit form starting fire by forming an intumescent char.
Aqua Flame WB does not contain any toxic material and does not emit any toxic gasses upon fire
exposure, making it environment friendly.

PRODUCT APPLICATION

Aqua Flame WB is assessed as fire protection coating for:


• Electrical cable either single, grouped or mounted in horizontal or vertical tray
• Supporting cable structures

Aqua Flame WB can be applied to interior or exterior electrical cables in industrial, marine and
commercial projects or where cable protection is required to avoid spread of flame.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

Aqua Flame WB to provide protection of cables & bunched cables on cable trays in indoor applications.
Meets IEC 60332-3-22 Category A standard for reduced spread of flame.
Meets IEC 60331-1 standard for maintaining Circuit Integrity up to 1 hour.
For use in power plants, telecommunications complexes, industrial plants, petrochemical plants, paper
mills, factories and production facilities.

Color White.

Coating System Aqua Flame WB (3 to 5mm – Recoating Interval 4hrs)


Requirement(DFT) Aqua Flame WB (600 µm Wet-achievable in one coat)

Theoretical Coverage 1.5 m²/litre at 300 microns DFT, allow appropriate loss factors
12 months minimum at 25C (77 F). Subject to reinspection thereafter.
Shelf Life
Store in dry shaded condition, do not freeze.

Surface Preparation
 All cables and tray to be clean and free of dust/oils/solids.

Method of  Airless Spray: Tip size: 0.017”-0.019”


Application Brush recommended in small areas

Thinning ratio Not necessary, If required use clean water not more than 5%.
