Safety Warnings and Cautions

WARNING
During a Collaboration Live session, a properly trained and qualified user must be present at
the system, even when the remote user is properly trained and qualified.

WARNING
Images remotely streamed via Collaboration Live are intended only for reference and must
not be used for diagnostic purposes.

WARNING

4535 620 37721_A/795 * FEB 2020

Do not use the ultrasound system with patients unless you are properly trained and
qualified as required by your institution. The local system user remains responsible for
patient safety during a Collaboration Live session.

WARNING
The performance of Collaboration Live depends on local connectivity and network
performance. Interruption in connectivity or poor network performance could adversely
affect a Collaboration Live session.

CAUTION
All Collaboration Live users should follow the applicable patient privacy and data security
policies required by their country and institution.

Collaboration Live Accounts Collaboration Live Overview

3 Collaboration Live Overview

Collaboration Live is a nondiagnostic feature that is powered by the Reacts technology of
Innovative Imaging Technologies, Inc. (IIT). This integrated collaborative solution allows you to
securely communicate with colleagues or with Philips technical or clinical support personnel by
text, audio, and video between a compatible Philips ultrasound system and a remote
destination. With Collaboration Live, you can do the following:
• Get real-time remote technical and application support from Philips.
• Confer remotely with your peers during an exam.
• Share your screen with a remote user.
• Activate remote takeover of the screen, touch screen, and control panel.
The Collaboration Live server is a secure, web-hosted, enterprise solution that provides contact
4535 620 37721_A/795 * FEB 2020

management, secure connectivity, and streaming services for Collaboration Live text, audio,
and video features. The server is accessed from the ultrasound system and remote-client end
points over the Internet, using an industry-standard TLS-encrypted method of connectivity.

Collaboration Live Accounts

With the appropriate Philips Collaboration Live agreement, maintenance agreement, or
remote-education agreement, you can use Collaboration Live on the ultrasound system to
access and communicate with Philips clinical or technical personnel.
With a peer-to-peer subscription, Collaboration Live enables communication between a user of
the ultrasound system and a user of the Collaboration Live remote-client software running on a
Windows-based laptop or desktop computer.
These account types are available:
• System-based accounts: Philips assigns each ultrasound system a unique Collaboration Live
account. That account is then associated with the appropriate remote-client software
accounts, depending on the Collaboration Live service purchased. When you start
Philips

Collaboration Live 11
Collaboration Live Overview Privacy

Collaboration Live on the ultrasound system, the system logs on to the Collaboration Live
server. All authorized remote-client accounts appear in the contact list in the Collaboration
Live window on the ultrasound system.
• User accounts for peer-to-peer subscriptions: If you have installed the Collaboration Live
remote-client software on a supported computer, you are assigned a user-specific
Collaboration Live account.
Account management, including account creation, activation, and deletion, is a collaborative
effort between Philips, IIT (for peer-to-peer subscriptions), and the site administrators of the
ultrasound system.

Privacy

information is used only for the administration of Collaboration Live accounts and for the
delivery of the Collaboration Live service. Philips and IIT do not share this information with any
third parties, except for the purpose of administration and delivery of Collaboration Live.

Network Requirements Preparing to Use Collaboration Live

4 Preparing to Use Collaboration Live

Network Requirements
Before first use of Collaboration Live, ensure that the ultrasound system is connected to the
site's network, that the network provides access to the Internet, and that port 443 outbound is
open. For more information about network configuration, see the ultrasound system Help.
For optimum performance, Philips recommends that the network connected to the ultrasound
system, and the network used by a remote user, meet the following bandwidth specifications:
• Audio: 250 Kb/s
• Screen sharing: 0.5 Mb/s
4535 620 37721_A/795 * FEB 2020

• Video streaming:
– Upload for each webcam: 0.5 Mb/s
– Download for each video stream being received: 0.5 Mb/s

NOTE
If the site uses a proxy server to access the Internet, and if the network administrator changes
the proxy server location or password, you may need to reconfigure the ultrasound system's
remote access for Collaboration Live. For more information, see the ultrasound system Help.

Setting Up the Ultrasound System

Use of Collaboration Live on the ultrasound system requires a separate annual subscription.
Philips

Collaboration Live 13
Preparing to Use Collaboration Live Setting Up the IIT Reacts Client

NOTE
If the Government Security licensed option is purchased and enabled, Collaboration Live is
unavailable.

Collaboration Live. That allows each system with an account to be paired with local Philips
support and other accounts purchased for peer-to-peer collaboration. To get started, do the
following:
1. Sign up for a maintenance agreement or peer-to-peer subscription.
2. When you sign up, provide the serial number and material number of each ultrasound
system.

4535 620 37721_A/795 * FEB 2020

Finding the System Serial Number and Material Number
1. Press Support.
2. Under System Management, click System Information.
3. The Serial Number and Material Number appear near the top of the display.

Setting Up the IIT Reacts Client

To use Innovative Imaging Technologies, Inc., (IIT) Reacts to communicate with a Philips
ultrasound system for peer-to-peer subscriptions, do the following:
• Install the IIT Reacts client on a Windows PC that meets the IIT system requirements and
has Internet access.
• Obtain Collaboration Live licenses from Philips.
