Yarn: Knit Picks Shine Sport (60% Pima Cotton, 40% Modal; 110 yards
[100 meters]/50 grams): 2184 Pageant (MC, 9 (11, 13) balls), 5083
Cosmopolitan (CC1, 3 (4, 5) balls), 9437 White (CC2, 3 (4, 5) balls), 4932
Serrano (CC32, 3 (4, 5) balls), K236 Dandelion (CC2, 3 (4, 5) balls),
Hook/Needles: US E-4 (3.5 mm)
Notions: tapestry needle
Special Stitches
Beg. cluster: Ch3, (wrap yarn around hook, insert hook into the same ch-sp, pull through,
wrap yarn around hook and pull through 2 loops on hook) 3 times, wrap yarn around hook
and pull through all loops on hook.
Cluster: Wrap yarn around hook, insert hook into the next ch-sp, pull through, wrap yarn
around hook and pull through 2 loops on hook, (wrap yarn around hook, insert hook into the
same ch-sp, pull through, wrap yarn around hook and pull through 2 loops on hook) 3 times,
wrap yarn around hook and pull through all loops on hook.

The pattern is given in three sizes, small-medium, large-1x, and 2x sizes as increasing by
two squares will increase the size by 8″.
If you want to work larger sizes simply add a row of granny squares on either side.
Pattern
Motif 1:
With either CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4 depending on the motif you’re making, ch 6. Make a ring
with sl st into the first ch.
Rnd 1: Ch7 (count as tr, ch3), (tr in ring, ch3) 11 times. Sl st into the 4 th ch.
Rnd 2: Beg. cluster in next ch-3-sp, (Ch 5, cluster in next ch-5-sp) 11 times. Ch5, sl st into
the beg. cluster. Fasten off.
Rnd 3: With MC, ch7 (count as tr, ch3) in next ch-5-sp, (tr, ch3) 5 times in same ch-5-sp, [sc
in next ch-5-sp, (2dc, ch3, 2dc) in next cluster, sc in next ch-5-sp, (ch 3, tr in next ch-5-sp) 6
times, ch3] 3 times, (2dc, ch3, 2dc) in next cluster, sc in next ch-5-sp, ch3, sl st into the 4th
ch. Fasten off.
Motif 2 and the rest of the motifs:
Rnds 1-2: Work same as rnds 1-2 of first motif.
Rnd 3: With MC, ch7 (count as tr, ch3) in next ch-5-sp, (tr, ch3) twice in same ch-5-sp, *
(ch1, sl st into the corresponding ch-3-sp of previous motif, ch1, tr in same ch-5-sp) 3
times, ch1, sl st into the corresponding ch-3-sp of previous motif, ch1, (2 dc, ch1, sl st into
the corresponding ch-3-sp of previous motif, ch1, 2dc) in next cluster, ch1, sl st into the
corresponding ch-3-sp of previous motif, ch1, tr in next ch-5-sp, (ch1, sl st into the
corresponding ch-3-sp of previous motif, ch1, tr in same ch-5-sp) twice; repeat from * as
long as necessary, otherwise work same as rnd 3 of first motif. Fasten off.
Finishing
Neckline finishing:
Rnd 1: With right side facing, attach MC to the center back ch-sp, * ch5, skip next ch-3-sp,
sc in next ch-3-sp; repeat from * around. End with sl st into the first ch-3-sp.
Rnd 2: Ch1, *5 sc in next ch-5-sp; rep around. End with sl st into the first ch.
Rnd 3: * Skip next sc, (hdc, dc, hdc) in next sc, skip next sc, sl st into the next sc; rep around.
Fasten off.
Finishing Outer Edge:
With right-side facing, start at the front right corner and work same as neckline finishing
around the outer edge of the poncho.

Weave in all ends.
Block poncho to size.
Closure strings (make 4):
With MC, * ch 3. Work beg. cluster in first ch; rep from * 30 times. Fasten off. Leaving a 5”
tail.
Stitch closure at the bottom of the 3 rd square from the shoulder. Stitch the second one
across from the first.
Repeat the same stitching process for the other underarm.
