OBJECTIVES
The Finance Act, 2019 and pertinent notifications made massive changes in Federal & Provincial Withholding Tax Laws. The workshop
aims at to discuss and understand each and every amendment made in the withholding tax transactions and mechanism, like; impact of
abolishing the concept of “filer” and "non-filer", Active Taxpayers' list and newly introduced “Tenth Schedule”, legal framework for
punitive measures for persons not appearing on ATL, penalties & prosecutions including imprisonment for one year for non-compliant
withholding agents and increased responsibilities of withholding agents, impact of abolishing Federal Sales Tax Withholding Rules and
newly introduced “Eleventh Schedule” in Sales Tax Act, 1990 etc.
In addition to above, this session also aims at to review, discuss and understand each and every transaction subject to withholding tax
under Income Tax & Federal/Provincial Sales Tax to resolve day to day practical issues of the Withholding Agents including multiple
monitoring sessions for the same tax year u/s 161 and harsh recovery proceedings.
At the end of the session, participants will not only be updated with changes in Withholding Tax Laws but will also be able to handle their
day to day withholding tax matters in a professional manner, resultantly the compliance level will be improved and chances of heavy
penalties and prosecution will be minimized.
