How to fix Orphans
Here are 3 ways to remedy having a single word on the last line of a paragraph.
1. Move a word from the line above the last line down to the last line
2. Pop the single word back up into the line above it.

Never do these: • Increase or decrease the size of the font to fix an orphan
• Change the horizontal or vertical scale of a font just to make one orphan fit.
• Change the tracking of just ONE word, or one line. The difference is too n o t i c e a b l e .
• Leave a huge gap in the line above. That gap looks worse than the orphan you’re trying to fix.
• Never add extra spaces between words to pop an orphan down to the next line.
