“One”

OVER BLACK:

A woman’s voice (and our narrator here is ADULT BILLIE, who


we won’t meet in this episode, but will get to know soon):

BILLIE (V.O.)
Scientists-- they said the world
would end in 2036.
(then)
Climate change-- pollution-- the
oceans would boil. The air-- you
wouldn’t be able to breath it.
Billions of people would die.
(then)
But they were wrong. The world
ended a long time ago.

And as the NARRATION CONTINUES we FADE UP TO--

INT. TENT - DAY (2036)

A RABBIT. In a CAGE. Sniffing the air, as we WIDEN OUT--

BILLIE (V.O.)
And this is the story of how it
happened...

To reveal a HALF DOZEN more rabbits, in their cages.

BILLIE (V.O.)
This is the story of what came
next...

Then-- JADE (30, fiercely independent), steps into frame.


Getting dressed, as she talks to--

ARJUN (40s, Indian, ruggedly handsome), on a TABLET behind--

ARJUN
...Jade, it’s been three months.

As he speaks, Jade picks up a bottle of PERFUME, and starts


spraying it EVERYWHERE. Arms, legs, neck, hair...

ARJUN
And-- I want you to be right. We
all do, but... three months. It’s
not safe, and-- even we can’t keep
you out there forever.
(MORE)

(then)
You should come home.

Jade FROWNS-- that’s the last thing she wants.

JADE
No. I’m close.

ARJUN
Are you? Because I’ve seen the
data, your field reports. It’s
not... good.

And Jade knows he’s right, but--

JADE
Arjun, I can get there. Just--
give me another week.

She looks to him-- focused-- driven-- but behind that drive


is a DEEP GUILT (more on that later). Arjun notices, then--

ARJUN
Three days.

JADE
Deal.

Jade puts down the perfume, as... Arjun gets serious--

ARJUN
And Jade? Don’t die.

ON JADE. Forcing a smile--

JADE
Do my best.

And we CUT TO--

EXT. TENT - DAY (2036)

JADE. Stepping from the tent, carrying the RABBIT in its


cage, backpack slung over one shoulder. She moves away--

Past a line of POLES forming a CIRCLE around the structure--


an (invisible) LASER PERIMETER. Jade walks past a pole--

DING! The LIGHT on top of it FLASHES GREEN, as we CUT TO--

EXT. HILLTOP - DAY (2036)

JADE. Walking down a grass-covered hill, toward--

LONDON. Or what’s left of it. The city’s DESERTED.


Overgrown. Big Ben in ruins, the London Eye collapsed. And
as Jade moves through frame, we SUPER--

LONDON - 2036

FOURTEEN YEARS AFTER THE END

EXT. CLEARING - DAY (2036)

CLOSE ON: BUCKINGHAM PALACE. Crumbled. Broken. Overlooking


what was once bustling ST. JAMES PARK. But now the space is
empty, manicured lawns gone WILD. WE FIND--

JADE. Stopping at the center of the park. On a slight rise,


above a LARGE CLEARING.

She kneels, and starts to UNPACK EQUIPTMENT. Her PHONE, a


CAMERA (all slightly futuristic). That done, Jade turns...
OPENS THE CAGE--

And takes out the RABBIT. Cradling it in her arms, as she


pulls a PIN from her shirt, and--

PRICKS the rabbit’s ear. Drawing BLOOD. The animal starts


to squirm, Jade sets it down, and--

The RABBIT DARTS AWAY! Dashing across the clearing, until--

BAM! A ZERO (ZOMBIE) bursts from the tree line! Running


FLAT OUT--

BAM! Then a SECOND! And MORE! Dozens! All crashing into


each other, as they chase the RABBIT.

And these ZEROS have been around for AWHILE. They’re


emaciated, clothes in tatters. Eyes sightless and PALE.
They barely look human anymore.

JADE watches. Frowns. Dictating into her PHONE--

JADE
Day eighty-one of observation.
Pack 2426 still displays no
leadership structure.

She steps forward-- watching-- hoping--

JADE
Come on, Dickface, show me
something.

(CONTINUED)

FAVOR-- a zero with a growth on its face that, yes, looks


like a penis, as it LUNGES for the rabbit--

And MISSES. Crashing to the ground--

As the RABBIT ESCAPES (yay!) racing into the distance--

ON JADE. Sigh... into her phone--

JADE
Or any sign of higher brain
function.

As she speaks, the ZEROS come to a stop. Staring after the


rabbit, with their milky, dead eyes, as--

Jade turns to her gear--

AND SLIPS. Falling to one knee, leg hitting a ROCK. Jade


winces-- SHIT-- and sees...

BLOOD. Dripping through a tear in her jeans.

And Jade’s breath catches in her throat. Fuck... FUCK! She


turns back-- slow--

THE ZEROS ARE STARING RIGHT AT HER.

There’s a tense, silent beat. Nothing moving. And then--

BAM! The creatures CHARGE!

And Jade FUCKING RUNS! CUT TO--

EXT. HILLTOP - DAY (2036)

JADE. Racing up the hill. The mass of zeros right behind.


GAINING FAST, as--

EXT. TENT - DAY (2036)

Jade SPRINTS for the perimeter. The zeros almost on her--

“Dickface” LEAPS-- TACKLING HER! Slamming Jade to the


ground. Teeth SNAPPING as he tries to rip her face off--

WHAM! Jade KICKS the thing off, half-lunging, half-crawling


past a POLE. To the other side. Light flashes GREEN.

The zero ROARS AFTER HER--

DEEET! And the light GOES RED! An ALARM sounding, as--

FOOM! FIRE erupts from the poles, forming a WALL OF FLAME


around the perimeter! Jade drops, taking cover--

As the ZEROS BURN! Snarling and SCREAMING--

ON JADE. Head in her hands-- EYES CLOSED. When the flames


have STOPPED, she takes a beat, looks up--

And sees the zeros on the ground. Charred. LIFELESS.

OFF JADE. Shaken. Jesus Christ... CUT TO--

INT. TENT - DAY (2036)

JADE enters. Tossing her backpack to the ground. PISSED.

JADE
Three months! Stupid-- fucking
stupid!

And as Jade beats herself up--

DING! DING! An alert. From her TABLET. Jade reacts,


digging it out of her backpack to see--

“SEISMIC ALERT” across the screen. Flashing RED.

JADE
No...

And the GROUND STARTS TO SHAKE! OFF JADE-- eye flaring-- oh


fuck... CUT TO--

EXT. TENT - DAY (2036)

Jade BOLTS from the tent, as--

BOOM! A MASSIVE CREATURE rips from the ground. Shredding


the tent, the shockwave sending the poles around it flying--

And KNOCKING JADE TO THE GROUND. She looks back-- terrified--


to see--

A GIANT CATERPILLER! Infected by the T-virus. Forty feet


long, over ten tons! It lashes the air, letting out an EAR-
SPLITTING SHREIK, then--

CRASHES DOWN. Coming RIGHT FOR JADE-- AND WE--

CUT TO BLACK!

Beat, then-- OVER BLACK-- 2022 POP kicks in, as we FADE TO--
"One" 5th NETFLIX DRAFT 10/1/19 6.

INT. CAR - DAY (2022)

THE PAST. A TEXT tapping onto a phone--

JADE’S TEXT
i want to die ☠ *

Send. And we WIDEN TO REVEAL--

YOUNG JADE (14, stylish, and outgoing-- a far cry from her
OLDER, more hardened SELF), sitting next to her SISTER--

BILLIE. Also 14 (they’re fraternal twins). A tomboy with a


big heart. Both girls are wearing earbuds, eyes locked on
their phones, texting instead of talking.

And while Jade and Billie are twins... they don’t look the
same. They’re both mixed race, but not the same race.

Meanwhile, their father ALBERT (60s, bookish and a bit *


absent) drives, chatting away-- but all we can hear is the
music, and the sound of texts flying back and forth.

The family CHIHUAHUA (PABLO) dozes on Billie’s lap, as Jade’s


text pops up on Billie’s screen-- she replies:

BILLIE’S TEXT
shut up its not THAT bad

DING! That text lands. Jade frowns, responding--

JADE’S TEXT
really?

She hits send. And as Billie reads the text--

Jade pulls out her earbuds-- then yanks Billie’s out too.
Billie turns to her-- what the Hell--

BILLIE
Jade, stop--!

But Jade just nods toward their father-- mid-sentence--

ALBERT
...and the school! They have an
amazing STEM program-- their team
won Code Fest last year, and--

He glances back to them-- big, enthusiastic grin--

ALBERT
They’ve got kombucha on tap!

Billie and Jade TRADE LOOKS-- not sure how to react-- as...

EXT. ROAD - DAY (2022)

THE CAR glides past a sign that reads: “Raccoon Two - An *


Umbrella Community”.

And into a SMALL TOWN that’s gone gentrified-- boutiques, *


brunch spots, yoga on the green, you get the idea. It’s nice
and so-fucking-fake, all at once.

INSIDE THE CAR. Billie and Jade stare-- taking it all in.

The FAMILIES passing by-- most of them wearing UMBRELLA MERCH


(sweatshirts, water bottles, headphones)--

The SECURITY CAMERAS on every streetlamp-- QUICK CUT TO--

SECURITY CAM POV: Watching as they drive past. Then--

We’re BACK TO our girls, watching a group of people at a cafe


(”Under the Umbrella”), toasting with sangria. All of them
laughing a LITTLE TOO HARD. Just enough to feel surreal...

As a pair of MOMS walk past, pushing UMBRELLA-branded


strollers, in perfect lock-step.

Basically, it’s very Stepford, and all Umbrella, all the


time. And Jade looks horrified--

JADE
What the fuck...?

And as the car rolls into the distance, we SUPER--

RACCOON TWO - 2022 *

THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE END

EXT. WESKER HOUSE - DAY (2022)

THREE TEENAGE BOYS (16-17), play basketball in the street--

As Albert guides the car past them, stopping in front of a


MODEST HOUSE. Modern. Clean. New. The car doors open,
ALBERT, JADE and BILLIE climb out.

Billie sets PABLO down-- letting him run, as Albert moves


ahead...

JADE
Five. They have five cupcake
shops.

(CONTINUED)

BILLIE
(like it’s a good thing)
Two of them are vegan.

JADE
(like it’s not)
Exactly. And everyone’s, like, way
too happy.
(then)
This place is fucking weird.

And even Billie has to admit--

BILLIE
It’s not the city.
(a positive spin)
House is nice though.

JADE
Yeah. If I burn it down-- you
think we can go back home?

Before Billie can respond, a voice--

CAROL (O.S.)
Albert! There you are!

Billie, Jade and Albert turn, as CAROL (40s, sunny) steps


from the house-- moving to meet them.

ALBERT
Carol, good to see you again.

He offers a hand-- but she goes for the HUG. Albert


stiffens, uncomfortable, as--

JADE and BILLIE trade a look-- weird. Albert and Carol part,
and she turns her attention the girls--

CAROL
Jade, Billie, it’s just... terrific
to meet you.

JADE shoots her sister a look, sotto’ing--

JADE
Fucking... weird...

Billie ignores that, putting on a game smile--

BILLIE
You too.

CAROL
So, what do you think of the town?
You know-- last year, we were voted
best place to live. In the world.

JADE
By who? Lululemon whores? Guys
that jerk off while they do
Crossfit? Elon Musk?

Carol freezes-- stunned and stammering--

CAROL
I-- I don’t--

Albert clears his throat-- stepping in-- not happy--

ALBERT
It’s a joke. Jade thinks she’s
funny.

Carol flashes a nervous smile, but moves in, Albert right


behind. Billie glances to Jade-- trying to keep the peace.

BILLIE
Can you just... not?

JADE
No.

INT. WESKER HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY (2022)

A modestly, modernly furnished home. CAROL enters, ALBERT,


BILLIE and JADE right behind.

CAROL
Raccoon City used to be an old
factory town-- when Umbrella bought *
it, the place was almost deserted,
but with a little inspiration, and a
lot of work, well... it’s just *
special here. The suns a little *
brighter, the air’s a little
cleaner. And you can have a house
with an actual yard.
(to the girls)
Plenty of room to run and play.

JADE
Right. I mostly just watch
Zootopia porn, so...

Carol flashes a tight smile-- not taking the bait-- focusing


on Albert--

CAROL
We’re just super excited to finally
have you here.

She flashes a grin, stepping into the KITCHEN--

CAROL
So, on behalf of the Umbrella
Corporation...

INT. WESKER HOUSE - KITCHEN - DAY (2022)

They enter, to see a CAKE on the table. Surrounded by


balloons. Carol shows it all off with a flourish--

CAROL
Welcome home.

BILLIE and JADE just stare-- and Jade can’t help herself--

JADE
Wow, so la--(me)

BILLIE
Great. Super great.

Then-- DEET! Albert’s phone. He reaches for it--

ALBERT
Excuse me.

Jade flashes an ANNOYED look-- this happens a lot--

JADE
He’s super important.

There’s an EDGE to her voice, but Albert doesn’t hear it. He


answers, and we get a snippet of his conversation as he EXITS--

ALBERT
Wesker.
(beat)
I’ve been traveling, what--
Tijuana? Which lab? No, that’s
not-- Christ...

Clearly something’s GONE WRONG. As he moves out, Carol steps


to cut the cake--

Jade stares after Albert frowning-- annoyed. Then... she’s


had enough, Jade moves off-- and Billie follows, worried for
her sister--

As Carol turns around-- slice in hand--

CAROL
So, who wants...

But they’re all GONE. OFF CAROL. Alone. CUT TO--

EXT. WESKER HOUSE - DAY (2022)

JADE. Standing on the porch. BILLIE steps up behind her--

BILLIE
You can drop it.
(off Jade)
The bitch act.

JADE
Not an act.

BILLIE
Look-- do you think I want to be
here?

JADE
Don’t you?
(then)
You were fine with moving to this
fucking... VSCO filter, Forever 21
Twilight Zone.

BILLIE
We didn’t have a choice. What was
I supposed to do? Yell and scream
and break a plate?

JADE
Worked for me.

BILLIE
No it didn’t.

That lands on Jade-- if it had, they wouldn’t be here.

JADE
At least I tried, you-- what
happened to the chick who broke
into bio, stole all the frogs we
were supposed to dissect, and let
them go?

BILLIE
She almost got expelled.

JADE
She got fucking boring.

Billie absorbs that-- pushes past it.

BILLIE
Sometimes, it’s not so bad to...

JADE
Get along. With Carol.

She says it with a sneer. Billie meets her sister’s eyes--

BILLIE
Just-- I need you to just try.
Okay?

ON JADE. As that lands. She shrugs-- whatever-- making


Billie frown, as Jade turns away...

Eyes finding the TEENS playing BASKETBALL we saw earlier.


One pulls off his shirt--

JADE
At least the guys are hot.
(then)
Let’s say hello.

BILLIE
Can’t, too boring. *

She’s clearly still stung.

JADE
Billie, I’m sorry, okay? Come on--

BILLIE
It’s fine-- I need to unpack.

Jade gives her sister a look, then-- a bit disappointed--

JADE
Right. Sure.

She heads across the street. Waving to the guys-- they


smile, start to chat--

As Billie turns away, her eyes finding--

A CATERPILLAR. Crawling on a nearby plant. Billie reaches


down, gently picking it up and we CUT TO--

EXT. TENT - DAY (2036)

THE FUTURE. Right were we left off. WHAM! The MASSIVE


CATERPILLAR crashes down, toward JADE--

Who ROLLS, the monster BARELY missing her as it RAMS the dirt--

ON JADE. Bloody and bruised. She tries to crawl forward--

CRACK! And the thing hits her with one of its legs-- sending
Jade CRUNCHING into a nearby tree--

She drops. OUT COLD. And we hold on Jade, motionless, as--

The CATERPILLAR’S HEAD inches into frame. Huge. Hideous.


Dripping SLIME. It opens its mouth, mandibles flexing, jaws
stretching WIDE--

BRRR! GUNFIRE RIPS into the creature. It jerks back,


surging UP! But the bullets keep coming, TEARING IT APART!

BOOM! THE CATERPILLAR DROPS. Slamming to the ground. DEAD.


A beat, then...

A PAIR OF BOOTS step into frame, and we reveal--

TATE. 30s. Scottish. A square-jawed hero type, with a BURN


MARK scarring one cheek. He wears assault gear, carries a
big fucking gun, and moving up behind him--

Are YEN (20s) and MASKEY (40s). English, and outfitted the
same. In the distance, we can see a HELICOPTER. Blades
spinning, beat up, and loaded down with CARGO--

MASKEY
Jesus...

Yen steps forward, kicking the dead creature--

MASKEY
That’s a big ol’ bastard.

TATE
Aye. Check the camp.
(to Yen)
The girl.

They move out, doing as their told-- Maskey takes in what’s


left of Jade’s camp.

MASKEY
There’s gotta be twenty zeros over
here.

TATE
Defense grid?

MASKEY
Looks like. Fried these fuckers,
but it going off-- probably woke
that fucker up.

Tate nods-- makes sense. He looks to Yen-- who crouches over


Jade--

TATE
How is she?

YEN
Still breathing, but--
(checking her out)
Looks like four broken ribs,
internal bleeding probably,
concussion-- definitely.

ON TATE. Not good. Then-- Yen’s eyes go wide--

YEN
Fuck me.

Tate steps forward-- as Yen holds up Jade’s hand, to reveal a


TATTOO on her wrist. R002. *

YEN
Tate... she’s a survivor.

He says it with REVERENCE. And from the stunned look on


Tate’s face, that means something.

OFF JADE. Bloody but alive. CUT TO--

INT. WESKER HOUSE - KITCHEN - NIGHT (2022)

THE PAST. JADE, BILLIE and ALBERT. Sitting around the


table, which is loaded down with pizza, salad, breadsticks.
Albert takes a bite--

ALBERT
Wow... I can’t believe this isn’t
real cheese.

BILLIE
It’s good, right Jade?

She’s trying to make small talk... but Jade’s not playing


along. Just stares down at her phone.

ALBERT
Jade, you wanna be part of the
family here?

Jade stops texting. Looks up.

JADE
Here? No.

ON ALBERT. You get the sense he could SNAP... but Albert


holds it in. Forcing a smile--

ALBERT
I forgot the sodas.

He rises, moving for the fridge, as Billie asides to Jade--

BILLIE
How long are you going to be like
this?

JADE
Until he buys me a car?

BILLIE
That’s-- you can’t even drive.

JADE
Then I guess it’s gonna be awhile.

Then-- she rises, moving to LEAVE, as Albert returns, sodas


in hand--

ALBERT
Where are you--

JADE
I’m getting my period.

An all purpose excuse. Then-- she’s GONE. CUT TO--

INT. WESKER HOUSE - BILLIE’S ROOM - NIGHT (2022)

ALBERT. Face creased from worry--

ALBERT
How much does she hate me?

REVEAL. BILLIE. On her bed. Albert next to her. PABLO


dozes in his doggy-bed nearby.

(CONTINUED)

Around them, the room is dotted with a “Meat is Murder”


poster, a Pride flag, a playbill from Hamilton, an easel in
the corner... all the hallmarks of an artistic, sensitive
teenager.

BILLIE
No one hates you, Dad.
(then)
She’ll be okay.

ALBERT
The move-- I know it’s hard, but... *
this is good for us. *

And he 100% believes that. Billie’s not so sure, but she *


plays along. *

BILLIE *
I know. *

Then-- Billie WINCES. *

ALBERT
Sorry. We’re done.

And we see: Albert’s TAKING HER BLOOD. He pulls the needle


free. And both of them are nonchalant-- this is NORMAL.

ALBERT
How are-- (you)?

And his PHONE RINGS. On the table. Albert looks to it--

BILLIE
Like I said.

ALBERT
I don’t have to pick it up.

BILLIE
If you don’t, you’ll stress.

Albert smiles-- appreciates her understanding--

ALBERT
Thanks.

Then he turns-- picking up the phone--

ALBERT
Wesker...

INT. WESKER HOUSE - HALLWAY - NIGHT (2022)

Albert steps into the hall-- phone to his ear-- hard-edged--

ALBERT
I don’t want excuses, we have
protocols--

He rounds the corner-- to see JADE. Holding a VIAL OF BLOOD.


BANDAGE on her arm.

JADE
You forgot my sample.

Albert stops-- edge dropping away-- surprised--

ALBERT
I was-- you took that yourself?

JADE
I can work a needle.

She passes it to him-- tossing off--

JADE
Gonna be awesome at heroin.

She moves down the corridor. Albert watches her-- concerned.


CUT TO--

INT. WESKER HOUSE - BILLIE'S ROOM - NIGHT (2022)

BILLIE. Looking at her phone. Funny cat videos. She smiles--

And the DOOR OPENS. It’s JADE.

JADE
Yo-- move.

Billie scoots over, and Jade slides into bed beside her. A
practiced ritual. Something they do all the time. As Jade
gets comfortable--

BILLIE
Dad’s worried about you.

JADE
Dad worries about everything.
(then)
We’ve never been sick, ever, but
still, every two weeks... blood
test.

(CONTINUED)

She holds up her arm. Showing off her BANDAGE. Billie nods--
true--

BILLIE
He’s just-- it’s for our own good.

JADE
(not so sure)
Is it?

BILLIE
Or he’s a vampire.

JADE
Totally a vampire.
(then)
You should have come with. The
boys were cute. Dumb, but cute.

BILLIE
Right. Cool.

But she’s not convinced. Uneasy. Anxious. Jade notices--

JADE
I didn’t mean-- I’m an asshole
okay?

BILLIE
I know.

And... she smiles. Forgiving her sister. Jade smiles back.

JADE
You worried about tomorrow? New
school?

BILLIE
New everything.

JADE
So-- new us.
(then)
These kids? In this little shit
town? We’re going to be their
Gods.

That lands on Billie-- a frown--

BILLIE
I don’t-- I just want to be
invisible.

BILLIE

Ingles kicked a first grader, so
you broke his leg. Fair trade.

BILLIE

as we POP IN on: Pictures of the original Raccoon City. *
Then a line: “10 MEGATON DEVICE DETONATED”. Then shots of *
DEAD BODIES, piles of them. Ripped apart. It’s HORRIFIC. *

The sound of SIRENS rips through the air. From outside. *

And the ANIMALS START TO GO CRAZY. Bird squawking. Monkeys


pounding on their cages. Jade moves to Billie-- freaked--

JADE
Billie...

But it’s too late. Billie pulls the CAGE OPEN to reveal--

DARKNESS. Deep. Black. She raises her camera--

And RED EYES flare. Deep in the crate. Billie freezes...


what the Hell?... then--

BOOM! SOMETHING ATTACKS! A DARK shape, lunging at Billie!

And Jade’s barely able to pull her back, the girls crashing
to the floor, as--

As A MASSIVE DOG emerges. A DOBERMAN. But... something’s


wrong. One of its eyes is WHITE, and the flesh around its
mouth, and along the right side of its body has been eaten
away. Revealing bone.

Resident Evil fans will recognize this as one of the game’s


CLASSIC CREATURES, but to Jade and Billie... it’s a MONSTER.

The dog turns on our girls... red eye blazing... like it’s

THE DOG. Prowling around the corner... but BILLIE AND JADE
ARE GONE. The monster slows... sniffing the air... moving
past a glass-walled office...

And we PUSH THROUGH THE GLASS TO FIND--

BILLIE and JADE. Crouched under a CONFERENCE TABLE. Silent.


Scared. Jade checks her phone-- “No Service”. Shit. As--

Racing toward them--

Bille ducks under the table-- Jade right behind, and then
they realize--

Billie’s eyes go wide-- she looks--

BAM! And the DOG HITS THE DOOR. Forcing it wide--

Jade and Billie huddle back, behind the conference table’s

THE DOG STEPS IN. Sniffing the air, as the BEAR SINGS--

CARTOON BEAR

Our girls go STILL, as the dog PROWLS the room. Paws tapping

Jade SCREAMS, lurching back, running out from under the table.
And Billie’s right behind her, scrambling to her feet--

As the dog CHARGES down the conference table--

Billie and Jade look back, as they dog LEAPS--

INT. UMBRELLA HQ - NIGHT (2022)

The FRONT DOOR. Our girls race for it, along another GLASS
WALL-- past a FIRE EXTINGUISHER-- they races for the exit--

Outside, SIRENS WAIL and LIGHTS FLASH as a line of UMBRELLA


SECURITY SUVs race for the building--

And Jade’s so fucking happy to see them, she tries to open


the door--

But it’s LOCKED. Jade pounds on the glass-- calling for HELP--

JADE
Hey-- help!

But there’s no response-- they can’t hear her-- too far away--

JADE
Fuck! The phone!

Billie goes for her phone-- hands shaking-- hitting a button--


playing the MESSAGE--

BOOM! The GLASS WALL BEHIND BILLIE SHATTERS! The DOG

And SLAMMING INTO BILLIE! Driving her to the ground.


Tearing into her. Billie SCREAMS-- and so does JADE--

JADE

Billie WRITHES as the dog takes BITES out of her-- her chest--
her neck-- gore spraying--

And Jade MOVES-- grabbing the FIRE EXTINGUISHER--

BAM! And CRUNCHES it into the dog’s head! The MONSTER


DROPS. Motionless.

EXT. BRIGHTON FREEHOLD - WALLS - NIGHT (2036)

THE FUTURE. As JADE races up the wall, the SEA OF ZEROES--


hundreds of them-- spread out before her.

Jade looks back to the Freehold-- dead bodies, fires raging--


then down to the monsters, as-- FOOTSTEPS. Behind.

BAXTER
Hey, Jade.

Jade turns-- BAXTER is on the wall. Two TROOPERS behind him.

BAXTER
Your sister-- she’s been looking
for you.

Her sister? How? Billie’s dead... isn’t she? Either way,


that statement sends a CHILL through Jade.

JADE
Stay the fuck away from me.

Baxter just smiles-- nodding to his men. The troopers STEP


FORWARD--

ON JADE. She looks back over the edge, and then... she makes
her choice--

And we go SLO-MO, as Jade’s legs tense-- and she JUMPS!

Baxter reacts-- shit-- reaching for her--

But too late. And we’re ON JADE. In MID-AIR. Leaping out


over the sea of monsters, as we--

BLACKOUT.
