4. On test sample give total 15 blows at an interval of not less than one second.

6. If total weight (B+C) is less than the initial weight (A) by more than one gram, then result shall be discarded & a fresh test required.
7. Individual impact value shall be recorded to the first decimal place.
8. Average impact value shall be reported to the nearest whole number.

1. About 6.5 kg of natural Aggregate req. to provide the two test samples . Less of light weight aggregate is required.
2. The test sample shall be taken as aggregate passing 12.5 mm sieve & retained on 10 mm sieve.
3. The test sample shall be dried in an oven for four hours at temperature of 100 0C to 1100C and then cooled it up to room temperature.
4. The cylinder shall be filled about one-third with test samples & tamped with 25 strokes & again repeat it for each layer. Total 3 Layers. Depth of sample
shall be 10 cms.
5. Accuracy of Balance required 1 gms having capacity 3 kg.
6. Normally % Fines Passing through Sieve falls within the range of 7.5 % to 12.5 %. Beyond these range load should be adjusted & repeat the test up to %
fines within the range of 7.5 % to 12.5 %.
7. The load required to 10 % fines shall be reported to nearest whole number for loads of 10 tonnes or more and nearest 0.5 tonnes for loads less than 10
tonnes.
