COURSE OUTLINE

Department : Mechanical Engineering Class :

Programme : Diploma in Plant Semester D: 4
Engineering Academic Session : JUN 2020

Course and Code : DJJ5062 COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN 2

Pre-requisite : DJJ2062 COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN 1
Total Lecture Hour : 48 Hours

Lecturer :
Room : JKM OFFICE
Tel. No. : 04-5383322 (ext: 5013)
Synopsis : COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN 2 exposes the students to learn the fundamental
principles of 3D parametric part design and production-ready part drawings
using 3D CAD software. Students will know the various method of creating a
solid model using extrude, revolve, swept, assembly, simulation and
animation. Hands-on exercises representing real-world, industry-specific
design of mechanical engineering will also be covered in this course.

Summary :

1.0 INTRODUCTION TO 3D IN CAD

This topic explains the user interface and design parametric part.

2.0 SKETCHING TECHNIQUES

This topic discusses the creating 2D sketches, geometric constrain and dimensioning sketches.

3.0 PART FEATURES

This topic assists student to create basic sketched features, editing parametric parts, create
work features and creating basic swept shapes.

4.0 ASSEMBLY DESIGN

This topic assists student to design assemblies and presentation files.

5.0 DIMENSION AND ANNOTATIONS IN DRAWING
