OSDP Configuration with Lenel OnGuard 7.
Use Case
The OnGuard 7.3 OSDP solution with the Suprema BioStation 2 and BioEntry W2 allows for a 1:1
(card + finger) biometric verification off of the Mercury panel. Enrollment of the biometric is captured
using the OpenCapture tool within OnGuard. The ANSI378 format is used in this setup.
1. User places card on Suprema reader
2. Suprema reader looks to panel for respective biometric template
3. Template is matched on device
4. User credential is sent to panel via RS485

Troubleshooting:
Please be aware that the W2 device is “disabled” when the device bracket is removed
(Tamper ON). So always test this FW and OSDP with the back plate ON. (Make sure the
back plate is on before powering up device).
If the device does not connect, please conduct a factory default of the W2 device. This is
because the slave device has its internal RS485 device address and can have another
device ID than the controller panel is set to connect. The factory default makes it go
back to the original default address 0. (Which is the default of Mercury panel)
