HR & Training Manager
Reports to: HR Director
Location: Bluewater
Salary: £33k – 37k
Employment Status: 35hrs per week
Purpose of the Role: To provide leadership and support in Human Resource issues to ensure the
implementation of the HR strategy in line with the operational plans at Bluewater. To manage and
support the onsite HR and L&D team.
Internal Contacts: Senior Management Team, Managers, employees and prospective employees
External Contracts: Clients, Government Agencies and suppliers
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coach, support, mentor and challenge managers in the application of HR policies and
practices, provide advice and guidance on HR issues.
To support the business in attracting, recruiting, retaining and developing people in order to
meet the business requirements
To ensure Bluewater manages its people appropriately so as to adopt best practice and
comply with employment legislation, mitigating any risks to the business
Responsibility for departmental budget and therefore attendance and participation at regular
Finance meetings.
To assist and advise employees on HR related issues including payroll queries
To provide specialist advice on a range of HR issues where required and provide support
during meetings
To implement agreed company HR policies and procedures
Implement quality procedures and continuous improvement
Create and review job profiles as required
Take ownership of the Training plan and ensure this is delivered accordingly
Assist with the salary review process
Manage all employee change procedures in line with company policies
To ensure employee absenteeism is monitored and reported on a monthly basis and any
issues dealt with at the earliest opportunity
Liaise with 3rd party medical practitioners and Occupational Health providers
Consult with Trade Unions/representatives on all relevant issues
To provide monthly reporting on HR KPI’s to the Operations Management and manage Service
Level Agreements with service providers.
Manage the performance and development of the HR assistant and Training co-ordinator
Attend and contribute to management meetings
Assist the HR assistant with Input, maintaining and validating personnel records on
Companies’ integrated HR & Payroll systems ensuring payroll submission is accurate
Draft Offer letters/Contracts of employment, invitation letters for disciplinary, grievance and
redundancy meetings using standard pro-forma’s
Develop and deliver training programs relevant to the needs of the business
Liaise with the L&D Manager and support learning and development programmes
Ensure all parts of the HR department are compliant for all site audits.

Essential Desirable
Qualifications: Qualifications:
Maths & English GCSE (Grade C or
above) Educated to Degree level or equivalent
CIPD Qualified
Experience: Experience:
Experience of working in a busy HR Experience of TUPE
department and giving advice regarding
all HR matters including disciplinary, Experience of working in busy time
grievance, absence etc. sensitive environment
Experience of using HR databases Experience of payroll
Experience of recruitment processes Experience of carrying out restructuring
exercises
Experience of managing budgets.
Experience of compiling and presenting
reports and analysing data
Experience in designing and delivering
training programs.
Skills & Abilities (Competencies)
Computer literate with experience of Office (Word, Excel, & Power Point) & other systems
Ability to work effectively in a team
Effective communicator – orally and in writing
Ability to manage change in line with client requirements and have a flexible approach
Good organisational skills
Able to plan and organise administration associated with recruitment campaigns
Able to handle large volumes of paperwork in an orderly fashion

Ability to maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders within a client
environment
