The Mona Lisa

In fact, I chose this topic because Mona Lisa is worth seeing and everyone wants to see it
and you too have to see it. It is to an extent like the emperor’s new clothes everyone says it is
great, so you too think it is great. In addition to that, there is something that caught my
attention that Leonardo da Vinci invented scissors, played violin, and spent twelve years
drawing the Mona Lisa's lips that's why I chose this topic, it's very amazing. Besides, In the
context of cultural heritage, it is an invaluable piece of art and masterpiece of the art history
worldwide is the Mona Lisa, a well-known portrait painted by Leonardo Da Vinci, an Italian
Renaissance artist.

First of all, Mona Lisa is displayed in a poorly lit hall, behind a sheet of glass. Though it is
an anti reflective glass, it still does not give you the perfect view of the painting. Furthermore,
only those who have seen it in natural light within a comfortable viewing distance would be
able to tell the actual greatness of this painting and also about the technicalities. Nevertheless,
there are points that make this painting great such as most of the paintings of that time are
about historical incidents, religious symbolism and anything relevant to a special presentation
of even an ordinary transaction of life. While most paintings of Da Vinci’s time are flat and
frozen in the moment, Mona Lisa is alive and smiling every moment of every day for centuries.
After that, It is a painting of life, in its continuity - the masterpiece with the stamp of the artist’s
greatness. Moreover, these points alone, perhaps, qualify the painting as the greatest painting
of all times. Last of all, the original name of the Mona Lisa was Monna Lisa, but a spelling
mistake made it the Mona Lisa. In Italian, Monna means Madonna, which means 'My lady'.

In conclusion, my dream is that individuals use their eyes and mind to find beauty and
truth in the things they see like the Mona Lisa is perhaps the best known painting in the world.
In short, my comment about this piece art which is Mona Lisa is literally priceless and because
of this it cannot be insured for any amount of money.
