Q1: Can I change/modify the data once I submit the form?

A1: No, the application data cannot be changed once the form is submitted.

Q2: What are the admission criteria for PGP program at MDI Gurgaon?

A2: The admission criteria is very transparent and can be found on the MDI website.

Q3: I am a B. Com graduate. Will I be eligible for PGP-IM course?

A3: No, PGP-IM course requires a graduation degree of minimum four years.

Q4: Is PGP program offers a degree or diploma?

A4: It is a diploma program.

Q5: What is the application and program fee?

A5: The application fee is Rs. 3000 and the program fee is Rs. 21.34 Lakhs.

Q6: Is it necessary to have work-ex for applying to any of the program?

A6: No, it is not necessary to have prior work-ex to apply for this program.

Q7: What is the intake of the total intake of PGPM, HR and IM program?

A7: The intake of students is 240, 60 and 120 respectively.

Q8: Will I be needed to specify my area of specialization at the time of registration?

A8: No, you need not specify the area of specialization at the registration. In the first year, every student
studies subjects from all the domains.

Q9: How do I apply for a course at MDI?

A9: You can fill the application form which will be available on the college website from 1st week of
September by paying Rs. 3000. The last date for application is 22nd November.

Q10: How is PGPM program different from PGP-IM program?

A10: In the PGP-IM course, student studies at MDI Gurgaon campus for the first year. In the second
year, they go to different ESCP Europe campuses in Paris, Berlin, Madrid and London. They get a dual
degree – PGP –IM from MDI and MIM from ESCP.

Q11: Is there a scope of student exchange program for PGPM and PGP-HR Students at MDI?

A11: Yes, students from both the programs are eligible to apply for the student exchange. The
final selection depends on various factors like your profile, college chosen and interview.

Q12: Will I need to update my CAT anywhere?

A12: No, we will pick up your CAT result from the registration ID you have provided.

Q13: How do I select a date for my GD/PI?

A13: You cannot select a GD/PI date, it is allocated to you. You cannot change your interview date.

Phase: Announcement of MDI GD/PI Call Lists – First Shortlists of Candidates

Q14. When will we receive the official email stating the provisional admission details?

A14: The emails are rolled out in batches. Request you to wait for a couple of days.

Q15: Does MDI reject directly or give waitlist to all the people interviewed?

A15: Students gets rejected after the process. Not all the students are given GD/PI converts.

Phase: First Shortlists of Candidates – Start of session

Q16: Can you explain how to understand my merit rank?

A16: Merit rank includes the people already selected in there 2nd & 3rd preference so it gives a
comprehensive number which shows actual number of people ahead of you. To add to the above, some
people might only have one course as a preference, and when their merit number is reached, that
course is not available, and so they get a waitlist. However, the person next in the merit rank might have
another course as a preference, which might be available by then, so they get allotted a seat in that
program, and hence don't get a waitlist. Thus, it is not necessary that a person who has converted will
have a higher merit rank than somebody (early) in the waitlist. Thus, it might so happen that if a vacancy
occurs in the most desired course, they will be given priority over somebody already converted and
waiting for getting updated.

Q17: Is there any official group of converts on WhatsApp/Facebook?

A17: Yes, there is an official group on both the mediums. Kindly connect with the admin of the FB Group
(FB group official converts link) by sending them a screenshot of your call letter and your phone number.

Q18: Why would one choose MDI over colleges like IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode?

A18: MDI enjoys the location advantage over colleges like IIM I and IIM K. Moreover, it has the
advantage of smaller batch size. Since there is no reservation, all the candidates are selected based on
their merit and eliminates any advantage which other colleges might provide.

Q19: Will my pay slips suffice as the experience proof?

A19: No, you are required to carry the relieving letter and the service letter from your company.

Q20: Will a fresher be required to submit any education gap proof?

A20: No, no documents of such sorts is required.


Q21: How long after the payment of fee do we get a confirmation from AO?

A21: There is no fixed time for that. You can get in touch with AO. However, you don’t need to worry
once you have paid your fee and mailed AO with the required details.

Q22: I paid the fee in the stipulated time but failed to mail the AO. What can be done?

A22: You need not worry if you have paid the fee in stipulated time, get in touch with AO and share
them details.

Q23: Is mess fee included in the fee?

A23: Yes, mess fee is included in the program fee.

Q24: Is it mandatory to stay in the campus? Can I get any fee discount if I opt to not stay in campus?

A24: All the three programs are residential programs and you’re required to be present in the campus.
You will not get any fee discount.

Q25: Are there any buffer calls? If yes, how many?

A25: Buffer calls are given by the AO and are not revealed by them. However, based on our experience,
we can say that usually buffer calls are given based on the trend of seat movements in the previous
years.

Q26: How are hostel rooms shared? Do they have ACs?

A26: Hostels are twin sharing. No AC is installed in the first year students’ hostel.

Q27: What all things are present in the hostel room?

A27: Hostel room includes a study table chair, book shelve, bed and a wardrobe.

Q28: What facilities are available inside the campus?

A28: There are two stationary shops, two canteens, one SBI ATM inside the campus. There is a student
run merchandise and retail shop inside the campus which offers basic necessities.

Q29: Does MDI provide a laptop for the students?

A29: There is no such provision. However, last time special discount was provided to MDI students by
HP.

Q30: Are MDI students provided MS Office licenses?

A30: No. However, you will be able to download MS 365 version with your official MDI ID.

Q31: How much part of the fee is deducted if I withdraw before the classes begun?

A31: Rs. 1000 will be deducted from the fee amount.

Q32: Is there any bank available in the campus from where the loan can be availed?
A32: There are no bank available in the campus. However, there are many banks available around the
campus. We also have banks coming to the campus for assisting students with the loan process.

Phase: Post-commencement of session

Q33: How much time it usually takes for refund after cancellation of fee?

A33: It usually takes one month for the refund of fee but is completely an administrative process and
may take even longer.

Q34: Till how much time can I cancel my candidature?

A34: For the PGPM batch, the seats are fixed usually before the spot rounds, i.e., the usually by first
week July. You can cancel your candidature till that time. You will be refunded your fee with deductions
on pro-rata basis.

Q35: How much fee will be deducted on pro-rata basis?

A35: Approximately 10k per week. This includes your fee of hostel, mess and other facilities you availed
at your time in the campus.

Q36: I am allotted a seat during Open Counselling. How much time will be given to me for
registration?

A36: In open counselling, once the seat is awarded to you, you can register immediately by giving the
token amount. However, if you need any time, you will be given time to arrange the documents and
funds.

Q37: What are the documents required for Open Counselling?

A37: The only mandatory document to carry is the Demand Draft for booking your seat. Your original
documents are also verified at the time of spot registrations.

Q38: How many lists are released by MDI?

A38: The number of lists are totally dependent on the number of students withdrawing from the
program. It may so happen that no list is released if there are no withdrawals.

Q39: During open counseling do I have to be physically present or can my parents represent me?

A39: Students’ presence is mandatory during the spot rounds. However, due to extreme circumstances,
parents can be allowed as a replacement by the AO. It is at a discretion of the AO.
