GUIDELINES General For Monologue and Dialogue

This document provides guidance for students preparing for and delivering an oral exam. It begins by listing filler words and transitions to use during presentations. It then provides templates for structuring a monologue, including an introduction, body paragraphs describing personal experiences and opinions, and a conclusion. For the dialogue portion, it emphasizes actively listening to one's partner, using a variety of language structures like conditionals and comparisons, and finding agreements or alternatives when disagreeing. Strategies are presented for having a positive attitude and appearance during the exam. Students are advised to prepare an outline rather than a full script and to use connectors to organize their ideas coherently in both the monologue and dialogue sections.
