1. In the news article that you have just read, Mr. Ralph Pablo, the DENR
Regional Director of CAR was clear in his statements that it is okay to
cut those 54 trees since Vista Land have and they will have mandatory
tree planting anyway. Would you agree with the decision?

Yes, for the reason that they accomplished all the conditions that was given
by the DENR. Which they replaced the cut trees for a total of 10,800 seedlings.
They also agree to pay for forest charges and secure a DENR transport permit in
case the trees or its by-products would be removed from the project site. In
addition, they are complete with the permit which is the environmental clearance
certificate (ECC), mayor’s permit and barangay certificate.

2. Where should we draw the line between progress and the care for the
environment?

We should know how to control ourselves while dealing with the


environment. Because our nature is already damaged and if we still continue
destroying it we will all suffer. We need to consider all the consequences that
might happen before doing such actions. So that conserving nature while providing
water, food and energy for a growing human population is possible.
