1 Introduction
This document describes how to install the Remote Radio Unit multi-Standard
(RRUS) A2 on site, and how to connect it to external interfaces. Standing alone
RRUS A2 unit installation and RRUS A2 associated with an Remote Radio
Unit (RRU) installation are described within this document. Instructions for
installing the RRU can be found in Installing Remote Radio Unit, instructions
for installing the main unit or the RBS can be found in Installing RBS, and
Y
instructions for installing the optical cables can be found in Installing Optical
Cables for Main-Remote Solutions.

1. Attach a lifting device to the top of the pole or wall, where the RRUS A2 is
to be attached to.

2. Pull a rope through the block on the lifting device and attach the end of
the rope to the handle of the RRUS A2 or its associated RRU. This rope is
for lifting the main unit.
Attach another rope to the bottom part of the RRUS A2 or its associated RRU.
This rope is for guiding the RRUS A2 to prevent it from bumping into the pole,
wall, or other units.
Hoist the RRUS A2 up to its position on the pole or wall while guiding the RRUS
A2 using the lower rope, as shown in the following illustrations.

Instructions for installation of the optical cable can be found in Installing Optical
Cables for Main-Remote Solutions. The cables are fiber optic and must be
handled with care. Never touch the end-face of the optical connectors. Only
remove protective covers right before installation.
Note: Be careful if the installation requires pulling the cables. The minimum
allowed bending radius for the optical cable provided by Ericsson is
40 mm and the minimum allowed bending radius for each individual
fiber is 15 mm. The minimum bending cables for other cables can be
found in the manufacturer's specifications. Do not twist the fiber to the
minimum bending radius.

10.3.1 Accessing the Indicators
This section describes how to access the indicators on the RRUS A2.

1. To access the indicators, unlock the side cover and open it by hand.

2. When finish accessing the indicators, close the side cover and lock it by
hand. Then tighten the screw to a torque of 2.5 Nm by using a T20 screwdriver.

Once the power has been switched on, the RRUS A2 is loaded with the specific
software. Optical indicators show the status of the RRUS A2.
If any red optical indicator is on, contact the OMC for maintenance support.
For more information on interpreting the optical indicators on the RRUS A2,
see Indicators, Buttons, and Switches.
The optical indicators show the status of the RRUS A2 and the optical cable. In
addition to the general optical indicators, the RRUS A2 is equipped with two
green optical indicators that show the status of the SFP 1 and optical cable 1 as
well as the SFP 2 and optical cable 2.

maintenance, SFP 1, and optical cable 1, as well as SFP 2, and optical cable 2
optical indicators are on or blinking and that all fault optical indicators are off.
