ESSENTIAL MATERIALS NEEDED IN PLUMBING SERVICING:

PVC COUPLING - can connect pipe to pipe and pipe to fitting.

PVC PIPE UNION - designed to residential plumbing applications such as hooking up washing machines and dryers, to swimming
pools and outdoor plumbing applications.

PVC ELBOW  - A type of plumbing or piping fitting intended to join a piece of pipe and another fitting at an angle.

PVC CROSS TEE - the most common pipe fitting, is used to combine or divide fluid flow.

PVC TEE - allow a line to be split into two lines with a connection that is at a 90-degree angle. It can also be used to connect two
lines into one main line when mixing chemicals. This versatility makes it one of the most commonly used types of fittings in
plumbing.

 PVC END PLUG -Threaded PVC plugs are able to create a tight seal without the need to use any adhesive.

PVC END CAP - used as the material for a cap or plug, it provides a much better seal and will not crack or shred like hard plastic
closures.
TYPES OF JOINTS IN PLUMBING:

THREADED JOINT - .Detachable joints of two or more component parts either directly connected with each other or by
standardized fasteners, i.e. bolts, nuts and screws

BRAZED JOINT - is a metal-joining process in which two or more metal items are joined together by melting and flowing a filler
metal into the joint, the filler metal having a lower melting point than the adjoining metal.

WELDED JOINT - A welding joint is a point or edge where two or more pieces of metal or plastic are joined together. They are
formed by welding two or more work pieces.

FLANGED JOINT- A flange is a method of connecting pipes, valves, pumps and other equipment to form a piping system.
Flanges are usually welded or screwed. Flanged joints are made by bolting together two flanges with a gasket between them to
provide a seal.

GROOVED JOINT - .Mechanical joining of two pipes means that a small groove is made at the end of each pipe with
a grooving machine. A rubber gasket is fitted over the two pipe ends and around it a two-part coupling is screwed together with
two bolts and nuts.
