RATIO & PERCENTAGE

1. A special cereal mixture contains rice, wheat and corn in the ratio of 2:3:5. If a bag
of the mixture contains 3 pounds of rice, how much corn does it contain?
2. Clothing store A sells T-shirts in only three colors: red, blue and green. The colors
are in the ratio of 3 to 4 to 5. If the store has 20 blue T-shirts, how many T-shirts
does it have altogether?
3. The age of a man is equal to the sum of the ages of his son and daughter. The ratio
of the age of the son to that of the daughter is 5 : 4. If the age of the man is 45
years, find the ages of his son and daughter.

4. Mr. Jones divides $4,500 among his three children Sam, Ron and Gary in such a way
that Sam gets equal to four-times of what Ron gets and Ron gets equal to 2.5 times
of what Gary gets. Find what each children get.

5. During a football match A, B and C together took 23 tickets. The ratio of tickets
taken by A and B is 4 : 3, and the ratio of those taken by B and C is 2 : 3. Find the
ratio and tickets taken by A, B and C!

6. A number is reduced by 100 %. Its present value is 270. What was its original
value?

7. In a basket of apples, 12% of them are rotten and 66 are in good condition. Find
the total number of apples in the basket.

8. The cost of an article is decreased by 15%. If the original cost is $80, find the
decrease cost.

9. Find the number which when decreased by 12 % becomes 198

10. Find the increase value if 150 is increased by 30 %.
