Course Name NET 101 Networking 1
Course Description Qualification consists of competencies that a person must
possess to install mast and accessories, lay out and install CAT5e
cables and configure CPE as well as to render service excellence to
customers.
Number of Units for Lecture and Lecture – 30 minutes
Laboratory Laboratory – 1.5 hours
Number of Contact Hours per Lecture – 1.5 hours
Week Laboratory – 4.5 hours
Prerequisite
Program Learning Outcome PLO 1. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, technology
fundamentals, and a technology specialization to defined and
applied technology procedures, processes, systems, or
methodologies. In aid of systems design addressing identified
technology problems, conduct the following: identify
problems, conduct researches, investigations and
experiments, and come up with conclusions and solutions;
PLO 2. Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and
modern technology and IT tools, including, but not limited to,
prediction and modelling, to broadly defined technology-
related activities, with an understanding of the limitations;

Course Outline Read & interpret work instructions as per plan
Identify the tools, equipment, testing devices, & materials
needed for installation
Identify the PPE & OHS policies & procedures required for the
installation job
Install mast and accessories
Conduct final inspection of the installed mast and accessories
Prepare an installation & testing report
Prepare necessary tools, equipment, materials and personal
protective equipment (PPE in line with job requirements.
Set-up cable lay out and installation equipment is set up in
accordance with manufacturer's and job requirements
Assess support structure as safe for normal working
conditions and sound for cable support
Secured cable permanently to support structure in accordance
with standard installation procedures
Prepare cables and connectors in
accordance with standard industry
practices
Read and interpret installation plan as per job requirements
Install radio antenna in accordance with standard industry
practices and following safety procedures.
Document installation according to SOP
Test and adjust CPE in accordance with the company’s
installer manual
Demonstrated professionalism and interpersonal skills in
dealing with subscriber concerns
