1. Describe the life of Jose Rizal as a presentation in the film.

The life of Dr. Jose Rizal. The Philippine national hero from his childhood. The struggle
for freedom through his writings and his life. When I finished watching the film the important
thing is education is the key to success. We should give more importance to our education.
Dr.Jose Rizal's life taught us not just simple history but is various values as well.

Another thing is patriotism. It wasn't about risking your life for your countrymen but to
love our country and patronize our own. He was a powerful person with his pen in hand and love
for the country in his heart that he was able to change the Philippines.

For me, the death of Dr. Jose Rizal is very important to us because he sacrificed his life
for our freedom. I understand what our national hero has done for the country. It shows how
Rizal loves his mother country for him to sacrifice his life is a legacy of what a real Filipino is.

He is trully inspiring me because of his story. Dr. Jose Rizal is not an ordinary Filipino
because he is very talented and very intelligent.
2. Based on your reading and class discussion, what can you say about the film’s
representation of Jose Rizal?

Dr. Jose Rizal is a very important person in Philippine history. Whenever I hear his name
the thing that will come out in my mind. He is a national hero. I become more aware of his
sacrifice.

I learned i a lot while studying. I've gained knowledge about Rizal and its contribution to our
country. While some of us may just know him as our national hero. I've realized that Rizal's just
like some of us.

He's had his struggles, every time I think about him and all his talent. I am proud of his work and
his sacrifice because I am Filipino. I always hope I could be like him in some areas of his life,
but I know that it is far from reality to happen, it reminds me of our professor in this subject Dr.
Jose Rizal is a very important person because he is our hero.
3. What the main questions that the film seeks to answer?

The main question that the film is why Jose Rizal killed Rizal is the most powerful
person, kind, clever and also a very strong person. He writes because of his country. Rizal is an
inspiring person; He gives more effort to fight to his country.

The writing of Jose Rizal is the eye of people because people are blind. Jose Rizal
sacrifices his life because he believes without a doubt that he really deserves to be our national
hero.

Jose Rizal was good as a physician, He provided free medicine to his patient most of
them were underprivileged. He perfectly became triumphant in his objective especially these
days were Filipino are known worldwide of being well educated.
4. What is your own reflection based on your understanding?

From my understanding the life Jose Rizal is not an ordinary story of a Filipino. He
already sacrificed his whole life just to give freedom and peace to his family and own nation. It
might not all about him, but those learning's and knowledge.

I learned is enough to say to myself. Rizal is deserving to be he has.his life is truly

amazing and unbelievable. Jose Rizal could not reach as that far without God.

Rizal had been blessed with a family who guides him to what he aims. He proved that
the pen is mightier than a word. He knows that he is a child of God. Rizal was calm and able to
think rationally.

He is cried out for the independence of his own country. The thing I learned from his
life is that could be a strong passion and determination to set free a country that deserves. At the
end of his life, he remained fighting for freedom until his last breath he makes himself grow to
wisdom and knowledge to use it in God's purpose.
5. How is history "constructed"? Remember that historian write history. Do you know how
a historian " constructs" history? As a reader of history, do you easily accept history as
told to you or taught in school? What questions disturb you regarding filipino heroes after
wartching BAYANING THIRDWORLD?

The most common thing or if my say the only thing that people answer the bayaning
thirdworld. First i thought it was some boring decomentary about Rizal. The movie was easy to
talckled his life. This is also highlighted Rizal being a "pilosopo" which reflected the Filipinos
attitude both in a good and not so good way.

The main point of this is Rizal's retraction which involved his marriage to josephine
Bracken. There many possibilities brought about the film. At the part where the priests who were
ruthless to the Filipino people.

I thought what i know about Rizal was enough to understand his life, wons and his
writting. Jose Rizal being national hero considering he the most influencing person. We were
focused in his good side; his achievements end also the contribution of Rizal.

The BAYANING THIRDWORLD it is very appealing and he is highly recommended for

other students we all our own Rizal. We have different perception, understanding regarding his
life.

He became hopeless and I think he became afraid of death. And also, he being capable of
doing those things.
6. With the two-film maker as the film's lead characters (and not Rizal,) the film seems to
tell us that heroes are not a ready- made given. It is the people who make heroes. Do you
agree with this? Why, or why not in what ways do we "invent" heroes

No, because Dr. Jose Rizal was a writer and suffer the irony of being a national hero in
a country. He is genius, he liked to work hard. Rizal has been placed on such a high level.

Admiring Rizal without understanding him is a kind of empty nationalism and

devotion. Before he being a hero, he was already gifted writer and he like another writer.

Rizasl are still only available in a language to speak. He became most powerful person
in the world he is perfect person because he is gifted most unbelievable talented.

The two most writing of Jose Rizal first is Noli Me Tangere and also El Filibusterismo
this is never leave feeling this sense of pride in your country.

Rizal used his writing to open eyes and minds of the Filipinos because all Filipinos are
blind to right and only Jose Rizal the one who has the courage to oppose the right of the people.
