Intro: As I am speaking to you now many young people are suffering

alone, in silence and struggling with their mental health... Is this
something you are aware of? Its no doubt that this global pandemic
has hit everyone this year, both good and bad but people don’t
realise how badly it has affected young people and their mental
health. 70% of young people have reported to be feeling anxious,
having regular panic attacks and feeling the urge to self-harm a lot
due to the pandemic and how it has affected people. This is
something that really needs to be spoken about and raised
awareness, even ChildLine reported to have had a massive increase
in the number of calls they were receiving between March and
October – the number of calls regarding mental health problems
reached a staggering 43,000.

I am now going to welcome Chloe someone who has mental health

problems that she found very hard through lockdown and found it
made her a lot worse mentally.

So, from speaking to you before you said you really struggled with
lockdown and just this year in general due to coronavirus and the
impact it has had on your mental health. Could you tell us a bit more
about this? Maybe why you found it hard?

I am now going to be speaking to Katie as she had a completely

different experience on lockdown and the impact it had on her
mental health, she found it a lot easier and she told me it gave her
time to improve and work on her mental wellbeing.
