Multimedia Technologies Assignment A Question 1

Multimedia frameworks provide a common set of APIs that allow encoding, transcoding, decoding and playback of multimedia files. They define native codec support and include a plugin system for additional codecs. This enhances multimedia output by supporting codecs, providing a plugin architecture for codecs not initially available, and potentially including a multimedia player.
