Method Statement for Waterproofing Application on Water Gutter

Surface Preparation & Application

1. Inspect the installed gutter and ensure the surface is free of grease and
contaminants

2. Use electrical grinder to sand the metal surface and wipe with Methyl
Ethyl Ketone (MEK, a mild solvent) for better adhesion of materials.

3. Prior to applying the primer, the surrounding of the applicable area to be


covered by tarpaulin or equivalent to avoiding spilling over.

4. Hand apply one coat of DELTAPrime 2K SF Primer & Moisture Barrier


(dry film, approx. 0.3mm thick).and scatter adequate quartz sand to
achieve better mechanical bonding (Approx. 2hours tack free time).

DELTAPrime 2K SF is supplied in a pre-weighed 2 component pack


consisting of a Base component and a Hardener component. The contents
of the hardener pack should be emptied into the base pack completely, and
mixed with slow speed light duty mixing drill. The mixing ratio is 1:1 and the
coverage is about 250 gram / m2. The mixed product can then be applied on
the gutter by using a brush or roller.

5. After surface curing (approx. 2 hours) of primer, spray apply one coat
(dry film, approx. 1mm thick) of DELTAShield HP 400 Pure Polyurea.
(Approx. 1min tack free time).

DELTAShield HP 400 can only be applied using high pressure heated


plural component spray equipment. The mixing ratio of Comp A and B is
1:1 by volume. Comp B should be thoroughly power stirred prior to the
commencement of spraying and periodically during the spraying process
to ensure there is no settling out of the Comp B components. Hose
heaters should be set at 70°C. Adjustments can be made on-site based
on environmental conditions, mixing module size and application
circumstances.

6. After surface curing (approx. 1min), hand apply one coat of DELTAShield
F 100 Top Coat and Tecnoplastic C (dry film, 50-150um thickness) on
the wet topcoat of DELTAShield HP 400 to enhance anti-skid function.
TECNOPLASTIC C is a kind of plastic (polyamide) micronized specially
selected for texturing finishing resins
The mixing ratio of DELTAShield F 100 Top Coat is 4 parts of Comp A.
to 1 part of Comp.B. The curing time of dry-to-over-coat is 3 hours.

7. After the curing of the mixture of DELTAShield F 100 Top Coat and
Tecnoplastic C, hand apply the finish coat of DELTAShield F 100 Top
Coat. Colour to be selected and approved by CLP Representative.
