1.4. General information

The gaming control board is the basis of Multi Vision gaming system [1], it is the gaming hardware
platform. It performs the functions of CPU and front-end interface controller. Refer to [2] for
description of gaming control board.

Software settings which impact gaming control board interface signals are described in [3] and [4].

Note! Signal processing described below is actual for software with Multi Vision Core version 102 and
above.

3
Gaming Control Board. Connection Diagram.

2. System connector
System connector is the main connector of the board. It contains two rows of lamellar pins. There are
72 pins on the whole. Pins 1 - 36 are placed on the side of soldering, pins 37 - 72 on the side of
element mounting. The figure below shows the connector position.

Low level is deemed as active for all output signals. Output circuit is of "open collector" type with the
output capacity of 400mA. The voltage shall not exceed the voltage of the power supply +125. No
external safety recuperation diodes are required to connect inductance load (meters, relays, etc.)

Low level (GND) is deemed as active for all input signals.

Note! When connecting the board strictly follow the conformance between the board system
connector pins and system connector counterpart pins. Improper connection can cause board
malfunction.

The table contains the description of the connector pins. Output signals are marked as OUT. Input
signals are marked as IN.

*1 Note. The meaning, recalculation coefficient and unit of electromechanical meter are jurisdictional
dependent. These values for all meters are set during initial setup by adjusting corresponding
parameters. Refer to jurisdictional initial setup manuals for detailed description of meters.

*2 Note. The impulse frequency to the electromechanical meters is 12 impulses per second.

*3 Note. Interpretation of signal of manual credit upload through KEY IN depends upon the software
settings:
a) In case Key Mode parameter is OFF every signal through KEY IN input uploads the number of
credits stated in Key Switch parameter.
b) In case Key Mode parameter value is different from OFF the signal through KEY IN input switches
the board into the mode of uploading the credits with HOLD buttons. When there is a signal
HOLD1/HOLD2/HOLD3 buttons upload the credits in correspondence with the settings: either
100/10/1, or 1000/100/10 credits correspondingly.

*4 Note. The reaction to signals of BOOKKEEPING 1 (owner bookkeeping) and BOKKKEEPING 2

(rental bookkeeping) entering depends upon the settings of the personnel authorization system - Key
System.

*5 Note. Audio signal from the system connector is the output of the power amplifier via the left
channel of board stereo signal. There is a special connector with the linear stereo output on the
board.

*6 Note. The signal of manual payout through KEY OUT is used to reset handpays and some error
messages which are required the attendant’s attention.

*7 Note. START button supports AUTO START function in case the parameter Auto Start by START
Button is set in the settings. Thus AUTO START mode runs when START is pressed and held for
more than 2 seconds.

6
Gaming Control Board. Connection Diagram.

*8 Note. For COIN A and COIN B input signals the minimal duration (low level) makes 100
milliseconds and the sequence period amounts to 200 milliseconds.

*9 Note. Minimal requirements to power supply parameters:

• +5V: voltage +5±5%, current – no less than 1A;
• +12V: voltage +12±10%, current – no less than 1A.

*10 Note. PAY OUT button supports SELECT GAME function in case the parameter Select Game by
PAY OUT Button is set in the settings. If PAY OUT is pressed inside a game, Select Game screen is
entered. If PAY OUT is pressed in Select Game screen, cancelled credits payout is activated.

3. Supplementary connector
Supplementary connector is the connector on the board extension, it is marked as X7. It is a 40-pin
connector of IDC type. The figure below shows the position of the connector.

Input and output signals parameters are the same as for system connector.

The table shows the description of active pins of the above connector.

23*1,*2 LOGIC AREA DOOR IN, inversed signal from sensor of logic area access
SENSOR
24 CASH BOX DOOR SENSOR IN signal from sensor of coins cashbox opening or

*1 Note. LOGIC AREA DOOR SWITCH signal processing depends on the jurisdictional requirements
and is determined by setting Logic Area Door Signal parameter. It shall be set during initial setup.
If the value of this parameter is set as OFF, the signal is ignored in the process of operation. If the
value of this parameter is set as ON, the signal is processed as opening the door to the gaming board

8
Gaming Control Board. Connection Diagram.

compartment. Irrespective of the parameter value the signal is always processed when the
procedures of memory clearance and initial setup are held, as well as in some service modes.

*2 Note! LOGIC AREA DOOR SWITCH signal is inversed to the other input signals, as high level is
active for it. In case the jurisdiction requires that the access to the gaming board compartment shall
be controlled, then when the compartment is closed it shall be connected to the signal ground (GND).

9
Gaming Control Board. Connection Diagram.

4. Monitors connection
The board supports two screens - main (lower) and supplementary (upper) monitors. The main
monitor is connected to X4 connector of the board extension, the supplementary one is connected to
X8 connector of the board extension. The above connectors are standard HD15F connectors for
connecting VGA monitors. The figure below shows their positions.

Note. The board can operate in both in double-screen and single-screen modes. The operation mode
is defined in Dual Screen software setting. In single-screen mode the image is not transmitted to
the upper supplementary monitor.

10
Gaming Control Board. Connection Diagram.

5. Peripheral equipment connection

The board can be connected up to 5 peripheral devices via RS-232 serial interface and up to 10
devices via cctalk interface. For this purpose the board extension has two 10-pin connectors of IDC
type and one DB9 connector. One IDC connector with serial ports 1, 2 and 3 is marked as X2, the
other one IDC connector with serial ports 4, 5 and cctalk port is marked as X5. DB9 connector with
serial port named as port 7 is marked as X3. The figures below show the connector positions.

Note! Connection of some peripheral devices may require intermediate schemes of signal level
conformance.

Note. Some ports function may vary depending on software settings. See Device Menu > Serial
Ports in [3] for details.
