Reading and Writing Write It Out: by The End of This Lesson Ss Will Be Able To

Imam Malik Secondary School taught a lesson on peace and conflict resolution. The lesson objectives were to identify the characteristics of an oratorical speech style and write a speech about children's rights using the target language points. Students watched a video of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech and answered analysis questions. They then practiced writing their own speeches on children's rights using modal verbs and concession words. Peer editing was used to provide feedback before presenting the speeches orally.
