Self-assessments
My leadership style is a transformational style. I always like to help my team members when
I was a volunteer at AIESEC GUC. I care about what they feel towards the organization and
task. I need to inspire them to apply for a team leader position not just staying as a member. I
have the ability to identify the skills and the interests of their employees and appraise the
followers’ great skills and transfer their excitement and their enthusiasm and help them to use
these skills for the advantage of the company to accomplish good work. I care about
follower’s development and focus on training and satisfaction of their job and help them to
solve problems, work out of risk and being always ready to any changes that could occur and
being creative to gain a competitive edge over the other teams. I think I am charismatic, I
have the ability to predict the future and have a long term vision so I can give confidence to
my followers and trust that they will do a great task and job to accomplish the vision. I
always strive to motivate, encourage my followers and have the ability to transform their
skills to achieve the objectives and goals of the company by increasing their potential,
helping them to communicate well with my co-team leaders and being self-confident which
leads to accomplishing the tasks.
For the Big 5 personality test, my result was extrovert. I seek stimulation from the outside
world, especially in the form of attention from other people. Extraverts people like me they
enjoy to engage actively with others to earn friendship, admiration, power, status, excitement,
and romance. Introverts, on the other hand, conserve their energy and do not work as hard to
earn these social rewards. I don't just enjoy talking to friends, family members, and
co-workers; I love to strike up conversations with total strangers. I love to meet new people
and learn about their lives. Unlike introverts who tend to think before they speak, extroverts
tend to speak as a way to explore and organize their thoughts and ideas. when I have to
spend a lot of time alone, which is not the best time I often begin to feel uninspired and
listless. Whenever I am facing a problem, I prefer to discuss the issues and various options
with others. Talking about it helps me explore the issue in-depth and figure out which option
might work the best. After a difficult day at work or school, talking about it with friends or
family can help me feel less stressed out. Introverts, on the other hand, prefer to think about
problems and spend time alone after a trying day.
Regarding the style of conflict assessment; my result was a compromising style of conflict
I always seek to find a middle ground when conflicts arose to concede some aspects of my
desires so that a solution can be agreed upon. For the bright side, the issues are solved
quickly and allow both parties to be heard and feel comfortable. everybody will feel like they
have something to show off when they conflict to end. I love to see everybody feeling
victory. I genuinely want to hear other perspectives so that I can best negotiate a resolution
that meets at least some of everyone's needs. Finally, there are circumstances in which a
compromise may be feasible financially and legally, but could have negative long-term
repercussions. If the proposed compromise is between an internal team and outside business
or individual, the compromise may be perceived as a weakness within the industry. Internal
compromise may, in some instances, result in upsetting, or severely disadvantaging an
employee, or team of employees: In these cases, the owner may decide that the compromise
isn't worth damaging morale.
For interpersonal style questionnaires, actually, I am not a good listener to others, I usually
interrupt others while they are speaking. I have no patience to listen to the full story I would
like to know the most important parts to criticize the situation I am listening to. but that’s not
always the case I usually like to hear the details when it comes to topics I am interested to
hear about. I remember I had an interpersonal skills test before I scored below average in
listening skills. however, for verbal communication, I scored above average. I normally use
appropriate language and know when to talk, and when not to talk. I can express myself well
to others – explaining my ideas and opinions in such a way that I am usually understood by
others. Of course, I can always further improve my verbal communication. when it comes to
communicating in groups, I am above average I feel confident when I am introducing myself
to new people especially when they are the same age group as I am. I always try to show my
personality in front of others being more comfortable when time passes by and I get know
them better.
For my emotional intelligence at work, being self-aware doesn’t mean that you can always
make yourself happy, but it does mean that you’re better equipped to recognize negative
emotions and deal with them in a healthy way, which helps everyone around you better tap
into their own optimism and motivation. I know what they do best, and therefore creates
more opportunities for myself to lead with their strengths. Likewise, I know my limitations,
which helps me focus on building vulnerabilities into strengths and also gives me the
humility to step aside and let others shine when appropriate. Being emotionally intelligent
means that I can control my feelings and not bring my personal problems to work. I can
always show optimism to my members and help them and motivate them .
2.Self Reflection
1- What are your areas of strength?
My areas of strength, that after my experience in AIESEC t think I developed my
communication skills now, I can do public speaking in front of the others. I have
presentations kills which can help me as HR employee. Persistence helps me to complete my
task, whatever happens, I just don’t quit. I am ambitious, I show a strong desire and
determined when it comes to something I need to do, I strive to achieve it. I am decisive too, I
can efficiently make decisions when an emergency happens . Freindly know how to make
good friends if college or in outer world and supportive
2- How can you make full use of your strengths as a student?
I use my patience so i wont get bored with study , being decisive helps to me prirtorize by
tasks to know which nassignmnets to do first according to their deadlines . being presistent
also is a good thing when it comes to submitting an assignment so I wont leave it until i done
it . being ambitious also helps to not quit and determined when it comes to a course that I
find difficulty to understand it , i try to search and seek for other help f there is anything i
don’t understand . and I think that helps me in college when i am being supportive and
friendly to my colleuges in team work projects . If there is anything they dont understand i
will do my best to help them .
3- Describe your dream job and explain how your strengths can contribute to
your performance in that job.
Actually my dream job is being an HR executive in Hotel sector , i think being friendly will
help me to form a big network in my work environment . Also being desicve will helps in
making important descisons as a manager if an unstable conditions happens in work as
COVID-19 for example which require the whole industries to work from home so this needs
also agility to react to this change . Being abmitiouts will also reflect on my followers in
work to be inspired by me and the way i lead which can help them achieve higher postions in
in their career . presistence helps me and my team to work togetehr and be able to achieve the
sucess and hotel’s vision . to have sustainable steps to work towards our goal as HR function
. Listening to others and being able to take feedback from employees will help to achieve a
better image of myself being a leader and work on myself . Multitasking will also be a major
game changer in hospitality sector . Its not a weird thing to find an employee working a 2
different jobs in nan hotel ofor example working as receptionist in morning and housekeeper
at night shift , thats what i will aim for when i recruit employees to look for them ebing
flexible having no issues to help the hotel to achieve its best image in front of our customers .
4- What are the areas in which you have room for improvement?
I wish i can be flexible when it comes to negative feedbacks , just dont take it persoonal
otherwise i will be able to work on it without being emotional when i hear this feedback
Being more empathatic , to put myself in other people’s shoe if they are facing any problem
that i dont try to think and feel them . Try to feel less stressed dont mix my personal problems
with my careeer as studying or working in the future try to buld a barrier between my feelings
at home and at work . Self confidence , i am trying as much as i can to enhance my external
apperance to gain my confidence back after tht too much weight i gained in quarintine .
5- How are these affecting your work as a student?
Trying to love myself now and accept my self helps me in a lecture hall when the doctor ask
a question my self confidence helps me to rise my hand share mt opion in the room infront of
others without thinking what others will think or say about me . Being Ambitious also helps
me to now search for the qualifications needed to work as HR in Hotel sector . So i can know
the courses needed to improve myself when i sit for an interview and try to win the employer
. Being friendly also helps me now , to message experts who are completely starngers for me
on linkedin to share my CV nnd asking for their feedback and what can i do to enhnace it
.Asking them if there are any courses should i attend as i am really excited for my HR
career. On the otherside , for my weakness sometimes which i face like self-confidence it
prevents me to talking face to face to doctors or maybe argue with them in point of views
like in aticle discussions . Also stress in midterms or finals unluckily leads to massive failure
like losing control but i am trying hard to focus and self control .
6- How do you think these weaknesses may affect your performance in
your dream job you describe in (3)?
I am doing my best nowadays to take courses online about public speaking , english to
enhance my communication skills and self confidence in interview while recruiting
others or even when i frist apply for a job . I am trying to improve my emotional
intellgience by reading more about it on the internet to knowhow other may feel
towards my leadership style . Trying to be flexible about any feedback i can recieve in
work to enhnace my image in work place and dont be emtional and be more mature .
7- What can you start doing now to work on improving your weaknesses?
I started online courses already about public speaking to enhnace my self confidence
and communication skills . Also i am reading about emtional intelligence as i
meantioned earlier . I am following now a diet plan so it can help me to gain my
confidence back I will also try to read about self awareness to kow myself better
I will also love to know more about psychology like this course of leadership to know
better my co-workers in future and be able to read people personality easier. I have a
problem in mtime management so i will work on priortirizing my tasks so i dont
waste time on stuff that is useless .
