QUESTIONNAIRE TEACHER EXCHANGE PROGRAM

FULL NAME: M. Angélica Melgarejo Aguilar

1. What specifically attracts you to the Teacher Exchange Program?


The opportunity to learn about different teaching methods, another culture and different
customs, to be able to learn and retain the best customs and tips given in the educational
field of the United States to be able to mix them with mine and develop an optimal class. I
also would like to share my Peruvian typical customs and teach my students more about
my country.
2. How has your education and experience prepared you for the teaching opportunity
offered in this program?
Languages have always been my passion and although I have not been able to learn all I
was always related to them and they were the ones that opened the doors to several
offers and different worlds. Traveling and being able to learn the good habits of other
countries is another of my passions, that is why, since I was 17 years old, I got my first job
as a private teacher, then I was getting involved with the language teaching and learning
new methodologies to reach the student over the years. Finally, to live in Switzerland for 5
years and be able to work in France strengthened my knowledge, methods and
techniques.
3. Describe in details the skills and knowledge you hope to acquire for this program
- my personal goal is to improve all areas of my English, with my fluency as a priority.
- I want to be able to prepare students for advanced levels in English.
- It is my desire to learn new learning techniques in order to keep the student focused.
- Learn the different activities used in class as personal and group games in order for the
student to learn while they play.
- Learn new efficient methodologies to achieve a productive class
- To be able to match my knowledge and techniques with those learned in this program.
4. Upon returning to your own country, how will you use the experience which you hope to
gain on the Teacher Program? Include information on your future career plans.
- I aim to re-teach not only primary and secondary students but also adults.
- With all the new skills and knowledge acquired, I intend to give classes of a better
quality and that the students leave the class enriched with my contributions.
- I wish to have better job opportunities
- As a personal goal, to be able to study online postgraduate courses.
- Get an optimal fluency to enjoy in a 100% my favorite activities (series and books in
English).
5. Please explain why you are applying to teach in America with the AAG Teacher Exchange
Program. Why do you think you will be successful? What do you think will be your
biggest challenges and how will overcome them?
I am applying in this program because I think it gives me a good working environment, the
opportunity to learn to enrich myself directly from the best teaching skills in the United
States, it gives me the opportunity to share with native people and learn from them, a
solid economic base for worry only about improving my work, the duration of this
program is adequate to learn and share knowledge efficiently.
I'm sure who I can become and do when what I do I do with passion and discipline. I know
that my weaknesses at the beginning will become strengths day after day and that with
humility I will polish my mistakes. My best achievements will be to give efficient classes to
my students in English, that they feel satisfied with my work and that they get rich every
day of the classes, I will earn their trust and respect.
