RURAL IMMERSION PROGRAM
Rural growth in India has developed rapidly. The Rural Consumer is now spending
more. This is the Market of Tomorrow and the students need to be sensitized to the dynamics of
doing business in rural India. Rural immersion program help students to understand through field
trips over a period of one week. This initiative uses the experimental learning model to create
complete manager who can stand up to the pressures of modern world.
Since it helps in gaining Knowledge, learning and understanding the role of the individual
enhancement in leadership qualities, understanding the behaviour of people and practical
knowledge.
INTRODUCTION:
My selected village name is THARIGODU.
It is located in the B. Kothakota Mandal.
It is in Chittoor district.
The total population according to records are 700.
The total houses 80.
Economic source is mostly Agriculture and Milk Production.
ABOUT Tharigodu village:
A Village is a group of people living in one place. The Tharigodu village is one
among the villages in B. Kothakota Mandal. The people live in this village are mingling with
each other and also helping together in all the situations as they belong to one family under
one roof. In this village houses are around 80. And the population is 700 People are
cultivating agricultural crops such as yield in ground nuts, Tomato, various types of flowers.
The Agriculture is the backbone to the villagers and mostly they depending farming, they do
have domestic breeding like cows, goats, oxen is the house which is another source of
income. The Government provides fertilizers to the farmers to the high yielding.
It also provides education to the childrens in village having Schools like Primary and
Anganvadi school are in reach. The government provides various facilities for this Village.
The major problem in this village is drainage system so the government provides Drainage
canal through the free of cost.
Need for the Study:
This program help in understanding the rural Surrounding and Market , this help building up
to knowledge, development of creativity and making an proper decision making and also
improve the communication skills, even helps how to interact and deal with the Healthy
environment among the different age group and we may able gain Knowledge learning, an
experience with strangers how to handle the people , it also helps personality, this gives an
practical experience which helps in building the career .
Scope of the Study:
We have considered the Social economic Status of the village.
It has the support from the political, social, economically that is been playing the key
role in that areas.
As the village has the proper health condition with all the necessary medical no
hospital in the Tharigodu.
The education aspects in the childrens and they allocation all the necessary aspects for
the both the Genders.
OBJECTIVES:
It helps to get knowledge on the rural areas can helpful in developing our ability and enrich in
dealing the people that could be implemented in our curriculum activities and in our
academics.
Education:
In the Tharigodu3 village we find 2 schools which are divided as per the standards. They are
Anganwadi and Primary and Secondary Schools. Since the village having the both
Anganvadi, Primary education (i.e.., up to 5th class) and Secondary Education (i.e., from 6 th to
10th) as coming to its infrastructure it was developed by the Government for all the
Anganwadi Primary and Secondary it was established in the year’s 1990’s by the government
authorities. The villages shows good education status since from 10 years the strength is
constant from the report of pass cuts, it does not show any fluctuations, they do provide the
mid-day meals to the students in order to prepare the food the workers 2 members to work on
it and the place they do preparing is quite clean and good they give the healthy food and eggs
twice a week on Tuesday and Friday.

In 1998 the government of India started the integrated child development
scheme to develop the health nutrition of poor children.
Tharigodu village are Anganwadi School to provide milk and eggs and also mid-day
meals to Children’s and Pregnancy ladies.
In this village Anganwadi is taken care by the one primary teacher and one assistant
Teacher.
She makes the kids to play and learn rims everyday with fun.
The kids are given milk everyday as the need of it in growing Stage.
About Anganwadi:
Anganwadi is a government-sponsored child-care and Mother-Care development Programmes
in India at the Village Level. It Caters to Children in the 0-6 age Group. They were started by
the Indian Government in 1975 as part of the Integrated Child Development Services Program
to combat child hunger and malnutrition. An Anganwadi Centre provides basic health care
facilities in Indian villages. It is a Part of the Indian- Public health- care system. The
Anganwadi Program is important because of its multiple child development activities.

ABOUT AGRICULTURE
Agriculture is the back bone to the village people and most of them depend on
farming.
The farmers cultivate Tomato, paddy, Ground Nuts and other plants.
They have Domestic breeding like cows, Goats, oxen in the house.
The Government Provides Fertilizers to the Farmers to the highly yielding.
Cultivation is the backbone for Indian country since almost 80% depending on this
Agriculture Sector as due to last decades due to drought and less rainfall the farmers
are being facing lot of problems and difficulties in this context as per this were had
less yield in last three years in the Agriculture sector since with they many people
have stopped cultivation and moved to other occupation and earning the money since
to run their daily necessary needs and wants.
Since in the village they does cultivation on the ground nuts, tomatoes, paddy And
all the vegetables such as Brinjal, Potato, sweet Potatoes, Lady finger, soya beans,
chillies etc.., are been grown in the field since they do use in their house-holds they
will use for them and they will sell in the market.

There is no any government Hospital or Private Hospital for this village.

State/ Central government schemes:
To reduce Poverty, Several poverty Alleviations, Employment Generating and basic services
Programmes are being implemented currently both by the Central Government and the State
Government. To mention Few schemes Currently in Operations are:
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramina) / Indira Awas Yojana:
A Centrally sponsored scheme. The Government of India is Implementing IAY since
the Year 1985-86 to provide financial assistance for Constructional and up gradation of
dwelling units to the Below Poverty Line in Rural house-holding Belongs to SC/ST.
National Rural Employment Guarantee Act:
The Act Aims at enhancing livelihood security of households in Rural areas of the
Country by Providing at least one Days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year
to every household whose adult members volunteers to do unskilled Manual work. The Act
came into Force on February 2 2006 and was implemented in a Planned Manner.
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana
It was launched on 25th December 2000 as a fully funded centrally sponsored scheme. The
Primary objective is to provide all weather connectivity to all the eligible unconnected
habitations in rural times.
National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)
Companies of Indira Gandhi National Old age pension scheme (IGNOAPS), National
family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) and Annapurna. Annapurna Scheme was introduced on 1St
April 2000 to provide 10 cups of food grains per month free of cost to eligible a
Beneficiaries who could not be cover Under IGNOAPS Under NFBS, RS. 10,000.00 is
provided to a BPL family in case of Natural or Accidental death of a primary bread earner
in the Family.
Transport
There is no Bus facility for this village. To reach the village the only way is to Auto’s or by
own vehicles.
Observations
Majority of the farmers are using Modern Methods to cultivation Giving Their preferences to
Cultivate Organic The Villagers are Mostly Depend On Agriculture Only
The annual income a family is too Minimum average of 20000-30000.
Farmers are cultivating mainly Groundnut , Tomato, Paddy only
Farmers are Availing Loan Facility by Kissan Credit Card.
Many of the farmers using Borewells for water to their Crops
Most of the people are having Insurance Policies in different Schemes. It is Best way to
Invest their money for Future and it Protects the Family if Unfortunately Any person Died
by Some reason Products.
Majority of the Farmers are using Modern Methods to Cultivation their preference to
cultivate Organic Products.
All the families having Pakka Houses (with Cement Concrete Roof) and Bathrooms.
It is fully Liquid Petroleum Gas Village. It is good way to avoid Health issues of housewives
and Useful in controlling air pollution.
Through the people in that village are fine according to the Health but these are a no any
medical Facility available and to the students there is no ground to play and people over
there are majorly depended on the which Yields Len profit.
Suggestions offered:
Villagers must Concentrate on agricultural related products also to generate more
income
Farmers must concentrate on Cultivation of Millets to generate the income by using
little bit of Water.
Farmers must educate about Crop insurance to protect their crops from loss by any
causes/reasons.
