First Quarter Performance Task OLAES

Smoking cigarettes and drinking liquor can damage the respiratory and circulatory systems in several ways. Cigarettes contain tar, metals, and other chemicals that irritate the lungs and reduce their function. Smoking also raises blood pressure and tightens blood vessels. Excessive drinking of liquor can cause irregular heartbeats and weaken the heart muscle over time. Alcohol abuse also raises the risk of lung diseases by reducing lung capacity and the body's ability to fight infection. Both smoking and heavy drinking pose serious health risks and should be avoided or limited.
