Classroom Management Plan Template

What will my management and discipline plan be like in my future classroom?

The purpose of this assignment is to assist you in identifying your teacher beliefs and apply them
to a classroom management strategic plan. This plan should be based on the knowledge of
different management strategies and techniques, child development, and your personal ideology.

Elements Description
Classroom Management Philosophy As a teacher, you need to think about how you
will implement your philosophical beliefs and
turn them into a classroom management and
discipline plan. This is where your journey to
transition from theory into practice begins.
Classroom Newsletter Teachers need to stay in close communication
with their parents. Parents need to understand
the dynamics of your classroom so that they
can help out and support you. You are to
generate a letter to parents that introduces
them to you, your classroom environment,
your management system, curriculum
updates, and your expectations for the school
year.
Rules Classroom rules should be fair,
understandable, and respectful. They should
be applied equally and be consistently
enforceable. You are to generate your
classroom rules based on the principles of
rulemaking.
 Good rules tend to be needed, fair,
applied equally, consistently
enforceable, age-appropriate,
reasonable, and respectful.
 Good rules are understandable to non-
native speakers and are sensitive to
cultural norms.
 Good rules respect and accommodate
students with special needs.
 Good rules don’t create more work
for the teacher.
 There should be between 4-6 rules.
Discipline, Consequences, and Meaningful discipline, consequences, and

Rewards rewards should be in place when a student
decides to break a classroom rule or excel.
These consequences and rewards should be
aligned with the district and school behavior
plan. You are to present your discipline plan,
complete with consequences and rewards.
Classroom Procedures Procedures create consistency in the
classroom. The students know how the
classroom is organized. Following procedures
eliminates confusion, provides predictability,
and enables students to focus on instruction.
You are to address your classroom procedures
for:
 Starting the day (including opening
assignment).
 Dismissing the class.
 Collecting papers.
 Absent work.
 Paper headings.
 Getting student’s attention.
 Bathroom breaks.
 Keeping desks orderly.
 Classroom transitions.
 Finishing work early.
 Missing assignments.
 Working in groups.
 Lining up.
 Fire drills.
Classroom Layout The classroom arrangement impacts
management, behavior, and instruction. The
classroom arrangement should also reflect
your personality, instructional style, and the
needs of your students.
You are to include a floor plan of your future
classroom. You must include:
 Teacher’s Desk
 Student’s Desks
 Bookshelves
 Bulletin Boards
 Smart Board/Chalk Board
 Storage
 Centers
 Any Other Elements
