REGION 2
Cagayan Valley, designated as Region ll, is an administrative region in the Philippines, located in
Northeastern section of Luzon Island.
▪️It is composed of five Philippine Provinces: Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.
It’s the second largest region of the Philippines in terms of land area.

The CaLaBaRZon Region is located in the southwestern part of the island of Luzon and has a total land
area of 16,560 square kilometers.
Calabarzon is the second most densely populated region in the country, principally because it is the
closest region to metro Manila.
CALABARZON is actually an acronym representing letters from the names of the 5 provinces that
comprise it – CAvite, LAguna, BAtangas, Rizal and QueZON. Like Region 3, it also spans from east in the
pacific to the west in the south china sea.
Mary Magdalene Church of Kawit, also known as Kawit Church is the parish church of
the municipality of Kawit, Cavite in the Philippines.

brook.
Balite Falls (Amadeo).Two falls could actually be seen in the area, one which flows naturally, gushing
strong clear water while the other one is outfitted into a pool of water with a deep part for the adults
and the shallow for the children.
LAGUNA
Agriculture and fishery are the main industries that contribute a great part of the provincial economy.
The crops produced are rice, sugarcane and fruits, specifically citrus and lanzones. It is the second
largest producer of coconut in the country. It is also noted for its woodcarvings, paper-mache figures,

Rizal Shrine
The Jose Rizal Shrine in Calamba, Laguna, the birthplace of the Philippines' national hero, is one of the
most frequented historical and tourist sites in Laguna.An average of 270,000 tourists visit this shrine
annually.
Enchanted Kingdom (EK) in Santa Rosa, Laguna is the country's first and only world-class theme park.
Enchanted Kingdom was recently cited by the government of Laguna for generating the biggest tourist
arrivals in 2008.
Atole or also known as Maja Blanca is a Filipino dessert composed of coconut milk, evaporated milk,
cornstarch or corn flour, refined sugar and added with grated sweet corn. It is often called Coconut
Pudding in some places.You can also add some toppings like latik or fried coconut curd, and shredded
coconut to make it more appetizing.
BATANGAS
About half of the province’s terrain is generally rolling, while the rest is mountainous and hilly.The
irregular coastline is dotted with coves, peninsulas and bays. It has two distinct seasons: dry from
November to April and wet the rest of the year.
Sinukmani is one of the famous Filipino meriendas made of sticky rice cooked in sugar.
The first ever Balsa Festival was held on the 18th of May 2002 aimed to help the local community by

RIZAL

The major crops are rice and fruit trees, specifically mango, citrus, coffee, cacao and cashew. Eight
towns lie along the northern coast of Laguna de Bay and depend on the lake for livelihood, including

Hinulugang Taktak, Antipolo-.This explains the name "Hinulugang Taktak" which means "Where the bell
was dropped".
Hibok-hibok- What you see here is what people in the Cainta and Taytay towns of the province of Rizal
call Hibok-hibok. Like most Philippine native desserts, it is formed through pounded glutinous rice or
some from of carbohydrate rich crop, much like the Moron and Binagol of Leyte and the Bud-bod
Kabog of Dumaguete .
QUEZON
It is the country’s leading coconut producer. Other major crops are rice, corn, banana and coffee.

Mag-Asawang Bato-The locals call it "Mag- asawang Bato" or "married rocks", nobody knows why.
These rocks are not really close to each other, when we are still on our bangka - we thought these two
boulders are in not-so-close distance you may think they are just "acquaintance".

The Bicol region was known as Ibalon.
The region is composed of six provinces: Albay – Legazpi City Camarines Norte - Daet Camarines Sur -
Naga Sorsogon – Sorsogon City Catanduanes - Virac Masbate – Masbate City
Camarines Sur is the largest province in area and population, occupying 5,481.6 km2 (2,116.5 sq mi) or
around 30.4% of the total land area with a population of 1,822,371.
Catanduanes is the smallest in area as well as population with only 1,511.5 km2 (583.6 sq mi) or 8.4% of
the total regional area and a population of 246,300.

MAYON VOLCANO-No other volcano in the world has a cone as perfectly shaped as Mayon.
The Cagraray EcoPark is a nature camp on Cagraray Island, which is connected to mainland Albay by the
Sula Bridge.
Danao Lake is located 500 meters above sea level and about 20 kilometers away from the town center.
It is surrounded by lush and verdant vegetation where animals graze freely, usually when rice- planting
season is over.
CATANDUANES
INTRODUCTION CAPITAL: Virac
One legend states that Catanduanes came from the word “tandu”, a native click beettle that was
abundant throughout the island. “Katanduan” then was the reference made of this island. When the
Spaniards came, it was corrupted from katanduan to Catanduanes.
MASBATE
INTRODUCTION (Cattle Island of the Philippines/Rodeo Capital) CAPITAL: Masbate City
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS Catandayagan Falls (Ticao Island) One of the most beautiful falls in the province.
It cascades from 60 feet to its base where multi-colored fishes cavort. It is one hour by motorboat from
the capital.
SORSOGON
INTRODUCTION-The name of the city is derived from the word "sosogon" meaning "trace the river by
going upstream".
- It is the southernmost province in Luzon and is subdivided into fourteen municipalities (towns) and one
city. Its capital is Sorsogon City (formerly the towns of Sorsogon and Bacon) and borders the province of
Albay to the north.
1. 'Sanctuary' to Whale Sharks Donsol, a fishing town in Sorsogon province, serves as a sanctuary
to a group of 40 whale sharks (Rhincodon typos), which are considered as the largest fish in the
world, measuring between 18 to 35 feet in length and weighing about 20 tons. Locally known as
"butanding", whale sharks visit the waters of Donsol from November to May.
CAMARINES NORTE
INTRODUCTION “Bicolandia’s Goldmine” Capital:Daet
- It’s a crescent-shaped province that stretches northwest to the southeast.
Camarines Norte derives its name from the Spanish word “camarin”, meaning rice granary or
warehouse.

The Pabirik Festival is celebrated every last week of January up to the day of town fiesta on the second

CAMARINES SUR
INTRODUCTION (World’s Smallest Fish and Higher Climbs) Capital: Naga
-Camarines Sur is home to the smallest fish in the world and famous for its Mt. Isarog, lots of beaches,
old churches, and many splendid attractions.
-Camarines Sur or also called CamSur is the largest among the six provinces in the Bicol region in Luzon
both in terms of population and land area.
The Tayak Lagoon is a hidden pool of mostly seawater partitioned from the sea by rocks and thus can be
reached by swimming under gaps under the barrier of rocks.
Camsur Watersports Complex (CWC) is a world- class 6-hectare watersports park located in Pili,
Camarines Sur.

Western Visayas Is one of the regions of the Philippines, designated as Region VI. It consists of 6
provinces and 16 cities making it the region with the highest number of cities. Iloilo City is the regional
center. Is composed of six provinces and the highly urbanized cities of Bacolod and Iloilo.

Ati-Atihan Festival Kalibo, Aklan • the festivity was celebrated in honor of the Holy Child- Sto. Ninio.
ANTIQUE The province's capital, San Jose. Located in the western portion of Panay Island and
borders Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo to the east, whilst facing the Sulu Sea to the west. The province was
known as Hantík, the local name for the large black ants found on the island. The Spanish chroniclers,
influenced by the French, recorded the region's name as Hantique, which was then read as 'antique
(silent 'h'). The locals then pronounced the name into its present name "Antique"
CAPIZ Its capital is Roxas City Located at the northeastern portion of Panay Island, bordering Aklan
and Antique to the west, and Iloilo to the south. Capiz faces the Sibuyan Sea to the north. is known for
the Placuna placenta oyster shell that has the same name locally and is used for decoration, and for
making lampshades, trays, window doors.
GUIMARAS “Mango Country” It is considered one of the exotic islands in the Philippines was once a sub-
province of Iloilo but by virtue of R.A. 7160
ILOILO its old name- Ilong-Ilong which means noselike. has the biggest and most-prolonged cultural

Negros Occidental the Philippines’ major sugar producer because Negros Occidental produces more
than half the nation's sugar output. Negros Occidental is rich in structures and buildings that are
remnants of a once affluent lifestyle. The Palacio Episcopal (1930), San Sebastian Cathedral (1876), and
the Capitol Building (1931) are popular landmarks.
