At the end of the class discussion, the grade 10 students should be able to:
a. differentiate “extemporaneous” from “impromptu
b. give value in finding speakers purpose through listening a song “Imagine”
by John Lennon
c. write important words or phrases from the speech “ Today can be a
Masterpiece”

A. Activity
The teacher will let the students listen to the song “ Imagine” by
John Lennon. Using their learning module , the students will fill in the
missing word of the lyrics of the song.

B. Analysis
The teacher will ask the following:
1. Have you heard that song before?
2. What have you understood with the lyrics of the song?

C. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the following:

 Extemporaneous – is applied to an unmemorize speech


given from notes or an outline
 Impromptu – derived from a latin phrase meaning “in
readiness” is applied to a speech given a poem recited, or a
song sung without advance notice or warning.

D. Application
The teacher will call students randomly and give their insights on
the pictures presented.
