Instructions to the Candidates

Before filling the Online Application

1. For Eligibility criteria, the candidates are instructed to read the Regulations of
M.Phil. / Ph.D. which are available in Periyar University official website:
www.periyaruniversity.ac.in.
2. The cost of Application is Rs. 500/ for other category and Rs. 250 for
SC/ST/Differently Abled)
Note:-
All the final year students of Post Graduate programmes are eligible to apply
for entrance examination of M.Phil. / Ph.D. programmes.
Further, the candidate’s should produce the evidence for pass in the final
semester along with mark statements at the time of interview.
Those who have appeared for the Common Entrance Test alone will be
considered for the admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes on merit basis.

At the time of filling the Online Application


1. Candidates are instructed to fill all the columns
2. Upload the required Certificates and Passport Size Photo of the Candidate in
the attachment column.
3. The application fee is non- refundable. The payment must be made through
Demand Draft from any nationalized bank drawn in favour of “The Registrar,
Periyar University, Salem” Payable at “Salem” or Canara Bank Challan
available in Periyar University Branch.

The fee can be paid through any of the following modes of online payment
options – Credit Cards and Debit Cards using online payment Gateway/Net
Banking enabled accounts of Indian banks using Online payments
Gateway(available in short pried).
After submitting the Online Application
Candidates are instructed to send the printed version of the Online Application
along with Signature and Demand Draft / Bank Challan and required attachments
(copy of community certificate for SC/ST candidates / copy of proof for Differently
abled candidates) to the Registrar, Periyar University, Salem 636 011 on or before
28.06.2019.
Notification
1. Last date for submission of online application is on 24.06.2019 before 5 p.m.
2. Last date for the printed version of the online application to reach the
University is 28.06.2019.
3. Hall Ticket will be available in the same website from 03.07.2019 to
06.07.2019. Candidate can download the Hall Ticket from the website by
quoting Application Number and Date of Birth.
4. Date of Common Entrance Test is 06.07.2019.
5. Venue and Time will be intimated later
6. Those who have appeared for the Common Entrance Test alone will be
considered for the admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes on merit basis.
Note:-

1. NET/SET/GATE qualified need not apply for Common Entrance Test.

2. Entrance mark valid for the period of one year (two session). Those who
have already cleared the entrance test in December 2018 and so far not
joined in the Ph.D. programme need not apply again. They can apply in
July -2019 session with the marks obtained in the December 2018
entrance test.

3. Printed version of the online application along with Candidate Signature


and Required Attachments should be sent to the Registrar, Periyar
University, Salem – 636011, on or Before 28-06-2019.

4. The candidates seeking admission for M.Phil. programme should apply to


the college directly along with Entrance Mark.
