Specific Objectives: At the end of the semester, the students are expected to:
1. Validate customer-related concerns through: Interview; Survey; Focused Group;
Discussion(FGD)
2. Describe the Marketing Mix (7Ps) in relation to the business opportunity vis-à-vis:
Product; Packaging; Price;People; Place; Promotion; Physical Evidence
3. Develop a product description
4. Create a prototype of the product
5. Describe the 5Ms (Manpower, Method, Machine, Materials, Money) of operations in
relation to the business opportunity:
6. Select/pinpoint potential suppliers of raw materials and other inputs necessary for the
production of the product or service;
7. Recruit qualified people for one’s business enterprise.
8. Discuss the value/supply chain in relation to the business enterprise;
9. Test the product prototype;
10.Validate the service description of the product with potential customers to determine its
market acceptability;

Day 1
A1: Product/Service Description Analysis through brochures, pictures, pamphlets and etc. (Small
Group Activity) - 25 minutes
Note: Using the Business Plan groupings, the students will analyze the given materials for product
description. After which, they will create their own product description with the use of guidelines.
Each group will be given a sample of product description. Follow the assigned topics. The teacher
may classify the assigned topics based on the trade area. Use the following questions while analyzing
each product description:
1. Are the elements of a good product description present?
Great product descriptions are rich in keywords.
Great product descriptions engage the audience.
Great product descriptions focus on benefits.
Great product descriptions provide detailed specifics.
Great product descriptions are updated frequently.
2. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the product description?
3. What are your suggestions to improve the product description?
Note: The teacher may use pamphlets, brochures or the following suggested pictures for product
description.

A3: Business Plan Modification (Small Group Activity) – 50 minutes
Note: Using the 7Ps, 5Ms, let the groups modify and detail the following parts of their business plan.
1. Service or Product Line with the following elements
a. Schematic description (in various perspectives)
b. Verbal description
2. Strategy and Implementation Summary
3. Organization and Management
Day 3
A4: Presentation of the Modified and Detailed Parts of the BP (Small Group Activity) – 50
minutes
Note: Each group will now present their business plan based on their modification and finalization
done yesterday. Each group will be given enough time to present their output. However, they will be
evaluated based on the following:
Day 4
Note: Let the students watch a short video clip about the Business Models. Use the guide questions
below to guide students viewing.
1. What are business model?
2. What are the categories of business model?
Note: After determining what a business model is, give a short lecture about business models and its
types.

A7. Brainstorming (Small Group Activity) – 15 minutes
Note: Group the class according to their original group setting (based on their trade area). Each
group will determine what business model is best appropriate to their conceived business. Let the
group write their business models in a Manila paper and assign two members from the group who
will share the output to the class.
Day 5
Note: Let each group present their output. Use the guide questions below as bases for the
presentation and in giving input or suggestion.
1. Describe what business model is best appropriate to your business.
2. Will it be possible to your business? Why?
Note: After identifying all business models that suits to their business. The teacher will give the
benefits of business models.
A business model is an outline of specific processes, functions or activities a company uses to produce
consumer goods and services in the business environment. Organizations typically create a business model to
ensure they can produce goods and services in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Business
models can offer benefits if companies properly implement and maintain a model. While standard industry
models exist, business owners and managers may choose to design their own.
