Behavioral Pattern Breaking

This document provides a worksheet to help clients break unhealthy behavioral patterns. The worksheet guides clients to identify tasks they expect to cause distress based on prior experience. It then has them rate their expected distress level out of 10 and compare it to their actual distress level after completing the task. The worksheet also prompts clients to engage their "healthy alter ego" to provide positive dialogue and note what it said or did to help reduce distress. The goal is for clients to challenge expectations of distress and use their alter ego for support.
