03.NTPCs Renewable Energy Plan

1) NTPC has 360 MW of installed solar capacity currently through projects set up under EPC mode at existing thermal stations and standalone locations. An additional 510 MW of solar projects are expected to commission in 2016-17. 2) NTPC has plans to set up 3,495 MW of new solar projects between 2018-2020 and is in discussion for additional projects post 2020 in various states. 3) NTPC is also developing solar projects of 3,000 MW under the National Solar Mission Phase II Batch II as the nodal agency, with 2,770 MW of projects already awarded. Solar tariffs in India have fallen significantly in the last year.
