The believers who are truly successful are those who are humble and attentive during their prayers, who avoid idle speech, who give obligatory charity (zakah), who guard their chastity except with spouses or slaves, who are faithful to trusts and promises, and who maintain the prescribed prayers. Such people are the true inheritors and will dwell eternally in Paradise.

Al-MU’MINUN (THE BELIEVERS)

[23:1-11]
23:1

َْ ُ‫قَ ْد َأفلَ َْح ْأل ُمؤ ِمن‬


‫ون‬
Certainly will the believers have succeeded:

23:2

َْ ‫ْأ ذ َِّل‬
َْ ‫ين ُْه ِ ْف َص ََلِتِ ِ ْم َخ ٰـ ِش ُع‬
‫ون‬
They who are during their prayer humbly intent

23:3

َْ ‫َْوْأ ذ َِّل‬
َْ ُ‫ين ُْه َع ِْن ْأللذغ ِْو ُمع ِرض‬
‫ون‬
And they who turn away from ill speech

23:4

َْ ‫َْوْأ ذ َِّل‬
َْ ُ‫ين ُْه ِل ذلز َك ٰوِْة فَ ٰـ ِعل‬
‫ون‬
And they who are observant of zakāh

23:5

ِ ِ ‫ين ُْه ِل ُف ُر‬


َْ ‫وِج ْم َح ٰـ ِف ُظ‬
‫ون‬ َْ ‫َْوْأ ذ َِّل‬
And they who guard their private parts

23:6

ْ ‫ل َأز َ َٰو ِ ِِج ْم َأ ْو َمْا َملَ َك‬


َْ ‫ت َأي َم ٰـُنُ ُ ْم فَاَّنذ ُ ْم غَ ُْي َملُو ِم‬
‫ي‬ ْ‫إ ذّْل عَ َ ٰى‬
ِ ِ
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed -
23:7

َْ ‫ل فَأُ ۟ول َ ٰـ ى ِئ‬


َْ ‫ك ُُْه ْأل َعاد‬
‫ُون‬ َْ ِ َٰ‫فَ َم ِْن ْأبَْتغ َْٰى َو َرإ ىَْء َذ‬
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors -

23:8

َْ ‫ين ُْه ِ َِل َم ٰـنَ ٰـِتِ ِ ْم َو َعه ِد ِ ْه َ َٰر ُع‬


‫ون‬ َْ ‫َْوْأ ذ َِّل‬
And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive

23:9

َْ ‫ل َصلَ َ َٰو ِتِ ِ ْم ُ َُيا ِف ُظ‬


‫ون‬ َْ ‫َْوْأ ذ َِّل‬
ْٰ َ َ‫ين ُْه ع‬
And they who carefully maintain their prayers -

23:10

َْ ‫ُأ ۟ول َ ٰـ ى ِئ‬


َْ ُ‫ك ُُْه ْأل َ َٰو ِرث‬
‫ون‬
Those are the inheritors

23:11

َْ ‫س ُْه ِفهيَْا َخ ٰـ ِ ُِل‬


‫ون‬ ْ َ ‫ون ْأل ِفردَو‬ َْ ‫ْأ ذ َِّل‬
َْ ُ‫ين يَ ِرث‬
Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally.
