MANUFACTURING PROCESS IN ODOO
Manufacturing Process:
Manufacturing the process of converting raw material products into finished goods or
products. In a company that manages a large number of manufacturing products, they
need to track every order of manufacturing efficiently and effectively. The Odoo
Manufacturing Module is self-sufficient, independent and powerful in managing
production complexity, Bill of Material, Product Order Planning, and Tracking Work
Orders, etc. manufacturing module is one of the basic applications in Odoo. You must
install the 'Manufacturing' app from Odoo Apps to get this module in your ERP. Since
the manufacturing module is closely integrated with Inventory Management, you can
keep your list updated automatically with each manufacturing process. The method is
very simple in manufacturing Odoo. One can create a production order for a product
and transfer it through your different stages to the production line and complete the
product. One can customize production processes that are consistent with the company
process using the work center and route concepts. Also, the end-user can easily
manage the ‘scraps’ at any stage of the manufacturing process and ‘unbuild’ the
manufactured product if needed. The organization may assign different levels of users
to ignore the entire manufacturing process for the successful management of business
processes.
Create a Manufacturing Order:
create a new one.

Bill of Material.
Click “Check availability” to see the availability of raw materials in inventory.
Manage Production:
Once you have created and confirmed the production order, you can start manufacturing. Select
a Manufacturing Order from the list.
Since Odoo provides negative material support, one can start production without ensuring the
availability of raw materials. Click "Produce" to start production. Once you start producing, the
status bar will change like this.
Click mark as done to complete the production process.
Configuration of Work Center:
In the manufacturing module, you can check the Work Order checkbox.
Go to Generate -> Settings -> and check the Work Order checkbox and click Save.

You can now create new work centers and routes in your manufacturing module.
You can create a new work center and fill in the required fields such as work center name, code, working
hours, company. You can now complete the following fields under the General Information Tab. You can
add performance indices like time performance, power, etc. from the General Information Tab.

In a manufacturing module, routing can be used to specify manufacturing activities to be performed at
work centers to produce a specific product. Every product has its own routes. It is not a one-step process
the manufacturing process can contain many work centers and any work centers have their own
procedures and time to perform. At that point, you can set a route for a specific manufacturing process.
Go to Manufacturing -> Master data -> Routing
You can now click on the Route button to create a new route in your database.

Then you can fill in the following field such as the route name, the location of the company name
production, and add work operation. Whenever you want to add work operation then click on add a line
button.
Now you can fill the following fields like operation name, work centre, and duration computation. There
are two options available in duration computation: compute based on real-time and set duration manually
and also an option for setting default duration. Then fill the next operation field and click on
the Save button.

BILL OF MATERIAL(BOM):
A bill of material is a complete, formally structured list of the components together with the quantity
required to produce the product or assembly. BOM are used in material requirement planning and product
costing. Products having variants, you can create Super BOM, which has all possible types of components
used to manufacture different types of variants, and the appropriate component is selected based on
characteristic chosen in the sales Order.
The first step is to enable Routes in Inventory Settings:

Once the “Multi-Step Routes” is selected, you can view all routes in
Inventory / Configuration / Routes
the product is MTO and Buy, which means that if you confirm the Sales Order, Odoo will
attempt to incorporate this requirement into an existing RFQ (draft purchase order) or create a
new RFQ.
Odoo is configured to use Standard Cost and Manual Inventory Valuation. This means that you
enter the standard cost for each product and no accounting entries are posted for any inventory
transactions.

once the by-products are enabled you can see a by-products tab next to component.
Add the products, quantity & select the operations. Under by-product enter the details
(if there were any to produce the product). After adding all the details click on the
‘save’ button.
Scrap
One of the most useful features of Odoo is that you can create Scrap at any stage of the production line.
You can always see a Scrap button almost all the stages of the production line. Click this button to create
instant scrap entry in inventory. You can create fresh scrap entry from or you can make a quick entry by
clicking on the Scrap button available on almost all forms of production .
Unbuild Orders
Another useful feature in Manufacturing is Unbuild. We can rebuild the products into its bill of materials.
This is actually a reverse process of production.
Go to Manufacturing > Operations > Unbuild Orders > and click on Create button.

While creating a new one, you can either select a Manufacturing Order. Now you can fill the following
fields: product, Bill of Material, Quantity, Manufacturing Order, Location, Destination Location, etc.
