Student Introduction & Goals
Picture:

This is a picture of myself. I am Sana Atan. My friends and


family address me as Sana. I am a poet. It is my dream to
become an author and wellness counselor. I am from India. I
have finished higher secondary school in 2019. I planned to
study further in Canada.

Questions:
1. What do you hope to get out of this course? What do you hope to

Learn?

Answer: Fitness and Health Promotion focus on making lifestyle

healthy. I was studying biology as a major in India. I was curious how

physiology and anatomy are related to fitness and health promotion. I

hope to learn the connections between different courses of Fitness

and Health Promotion. It is necessary to build up myself in a

presentable way. I hope to learn professional behaviour from the

professional practice and standards course. It would make me more

confident and knowledgeable. These soft skills are vital in wellness

counseling as a career. I expect to acquire as much knowledge as I

can from professional practice and standards course.

2. What types of fitness activities do you enjoy (pre-COVID-19 and/or

during)?

Answer: Fitness activities are of different types like running, jogging,

swimming, dancing, sports. I prefer cardiovascular activity. It

improves the condition of the heart and lungs. It also helps in

strengthening muscles. I enjoy running and jogging. In India, I used to

go for a long run in rural areas. It soothes my soul and calms my

mind.

3. If you have taken group fitness classes in the past, which ones did

you like, which did you dislike?

Answer: I have not taken any fitness classes in past due to busy

schedules. However, if I get the chance in the future to participate in

any fitness classes, I would participate in an aerobics class. I really

enjoy aerobics. I would try my best to enjoy any class I pursue but

bicycle riding would be my last choice. Maybe I will dislike it as I do

not like to ride a bike.

4. Either from your past experiences or based on what you think, what

are the qualities demonstrated by an effective fitness and health

professional?

Answer: According to my knowledge, an effective fitness and health

professional can be a fitness coach, personal trainer, or wellness

coordinator. Their main goal is assistance and guidance to the client.

They should have qualities like professionalism, communication skills,

polite behavior, physical and mental fit, and motivation skills.

5. How can I best help you learn? What would help you to have the best

learning experience?

Answer: You can guide me on how to become more professional.

Presentable looks and speech are important in the fitness and health

department. I would really appreciate it if you guide me at any step

where my performance goes down. You can help me in getting the

best learning experience by providing in-depth knowledge in a simple

and understanding way.

6. What type of career(s) would you like to have within Fitness and

Health Promotion? What is your ultimate career goal?

Answer: I would like to become a wellness coordinator within Fitness

and Health promotion as a career. My ultimate career goal is to

become a psychologist councelar. It is my dream to help the

community in living a healthy life by making their lives free from

stress. There are a plethora of people living in depression. I would

love to help them.
