I. Complete the Conditional Sentences (Type II) by putting the verbs into the correct form.
1. If he (have) HAD more time, he (learn) WOULD LEARN karate.
2. If they (tell) TOLD their father, he (be) WOULD BE very angry.
3. She (spend) WOULD SPEND a year in the USA if it (be) WERE easier to get a green card.
4. If I (not / live) NOT LIVED on a lonely island, I (run) WOULD RUN around naked all day.
5. We (help) WOULD HELP you if we (know) KNEW how.
6. My brother (buy) WOULD BUY a sports car if he (have) HAD the money.
7. If I (not / feel) NOT FELT better, I (go) WOULD GO to the cinema with you.
8. If you (go) WENT by bike more often, you (be / not) WOULD NOT BE so flabby.
9. She (talk) WOULD TALK to you if she (be) WERE mad at you.
10. If he (try) TRIED harder, he (reach) WOULD REACH his goals.

II. Complete the Conditional Sentences. Decide whether to use Type I or II.

1. If they go to Washington, they (see) WILL SEE the White House.


2. If she (have) HAD a hamster, she would call him Fred.
3. If he gave her a sweet, she (stop) WOULD STOP crying.
4. If he (arrive) ARRIVES later, he will take a taxi.
5. We would understand him if he (speak) SPOKE slowly.
6. Andy (cook) WILL COOK dinner if we buy the food.
7. I will prepare breakfast if I (wake up) WAKE early.
8. If they shared a room, they (fight) WOULD FIGHT all day long.
9. If you hate walking in the mountains, you (enjoy / not) WILL NOT ENJOY the tour.
10. Janet would go jogging if she (have / not) DID NOT HAVE to do her homework.

III. Complete the Conditional Sentences. Decide whether to use Type I, II or III.

1. If I had time, I WOULD GO shopping with you.


2. If you SPEAK English, you will get along with them perfectly.
3. If they had gone for a walk, they WOULD HAVE TURNED the lights off.
4. If she COMES to see us, we will go to the zoo.
5. I would have told you, if I HAD SEEN him.

7. If they HAD INVITED me, I wouldn't have said no.
8. My friend WILL MEET me at the station if he gets the afternoon off.
9. If I DIDN´T DO it, nobody would do it.
10. If my father DOESN´T PICK me up, I'll take the bus home.

IV. Complete the sentences according to the basic rules for Conditional Sentences.

1. It WOULD BE silly if we tried to walk there.

3. She'd have taken me to the station if her car HADN´T BROKEN down.
4. If you DON´T ASK, he won't help you.
5. If it HADN´T RAINED yesterday, we would have gone sailing.
6. WILL YOU LOOK after their dog again if they go on holiday this year?
7. Would you mind if I USED your mobile?
8. I WOULD NOT HAVE OPENED the mail if it had contained a virus.
9. Even if I HAD a wet-suit, I wouldn't go scuba-diving.
10. WOULD YOU HAVE BEEN that strict if you'd known the truth?
