1 Horizontal Rectangular High Pressure High Vacuum Double 3
Door Sterilizer.
The sterilizer will be manufactured as per IS:No.3829 (Part 1)-1978
with ISI Mark/CE Standards. The unit will be designed for operating
pressure 30 to 32 psi. and corresponding to a temperature of 134oC.
The sterilizer chamber would be formed out of SS 316. The Jacket
will be formed out of mild steel. The jacket outer cover will be of SS
304. The sterilizer will be provided with 2 Nos. pressure locking type
hinged doors. The door plate will be of SS 316 with shooting
bolts,flush mountings and steam generator will be of SS 304. The
stand of the sterilizer will be of mild steel.
The Sterilizer will be automatic with PLC with 5 pre-sets programs
and 1 variable program, MMI with Dot-matrix printer wherein date,
time, load identification no. cycle selected, cycle parameter including
time, temperature and phase etc. Can be seen and documented.
Finally, the automation is so designed that once the program is
selected then no further intervention is required from the operator till
the end of the program.

Steam Generator enclosed inside the sterilizer cabinet and should


have multiple door locking and safety functions.
Should have Double Door for pass through system. Doors should be
fully automatic vertically sliding type with pneumatically controlled
function.

The sterilizer will also be provided with an intelligent transducer for


heater protection

Should be CE certified or FDA approved product conforming to EN


285, MDD 93/42/CEE, CE 97/23 PED for Pressure Vessel, EN
61010-1, EN 61010-2, EN 60204-2, Validated as per EN ISO 17665-
1. Current Valid copy of Certificates to be attached wherever
applicable.

Should have complete monitoring of cycle operation and provided


with at least two Digital Pressure sensors and analog gauges for
chamber pressure & jacket pressure indication.

Should have High Precision Digital Sensors for measure


measurement of chamber Temperature (PT100 type) & Pressure
values.

Should have option for Water conservation approx. 50%. Company


should specify the extent of water saving in their system.
The unit will be complete with vacuum pump and condenser and
inter- connecting piping.

Should be high-grade Stainless steel construction inside and outside


including all internal piping and external panels. Chamber, Jacket &

6 S.S. Vertical Sliding Door 1
Door is used between clean and dirty areas in hospitals,
pharmaceuticals etc. The sliding door is mounted on an existing wall
opening. The door is made of stainless steel counter-balanced by
built in counterweight. The door is provided with nylon wheels at the
side for easy of movement. The door is made along with stainless
steel cover plates for the wall opening. The door is provided with a
built in safety lock which ensures the door from closing if the

7 Stainless steel work table with two sink 2
The bench top is fabricated out of 16SWG SS 304 qlty. ground and
polished with smooth surface and edge section. The top is designed
to give a stable work surface. The table top frame is a complete
assembly with front, back and two ends welded together. The sinks
are made of stainless steel with inside ground and polished. Each
sink is provided with a drain valve and a strainer. On the bench top,

8 Washer Disinfector 2
Washer Disinfector, double door, Horizontal movement with
interlocked doors to avoid simultaneous operation suitable for
cleaning and disaffection of surgical instruments, anesthetic
equipment, suction bottles, cleaning buckets, general circulation
goods, dental tray and glassware with a fully closed process.

The washer disinfector, fully automatic, has an advanced micro-


processor which controls all services, programming and statistic
functions. For safety reasons the service and programming functions
are coded.
The door would be provided with interlocking system.
The chamber is equipped with four spray arms which ensure good
water penetration from all directions. Various attachments are
provided to suit the load to be washed. Suitable dosage of detergent
can be preset with the dosing pump.
The provision of a double wall with insulation in between enables the
Washer Disinfector to run with minimum sound and heat emission.

The wash chamber, the inside the door, the pipework system and the
circulation arms are made entirely of stainless steel.

The Washing chamber & other internal parts should be made up of


316 stainless steel.

10 Drying Cabinet with single door 1


Digital timer Controlled Drying Cabinet with single door suitable for
easy and quick drying of instruments, utensils, glass wares and
anesthetic accessories such as corrugated hoses, breathing masks,
respiration bags and surgical instruments trays etc.
The unit would be provided with digital display with countdown drying
time and drying time selectors, temperature selector including
indication of selected temperature.
The system would have adjustable adjustment temperature range of
60-90oC.
The system would have drying time range of 0-90 minutes.
The system would take air from the work area and clean it by
appropriate filter. The air is to be heated to an operator selected
temperature by electric heating element. The system would also

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Main Controller:
The entire system has to be electronically controlled by microprocessors/ computer. The main control unit, which
controls the sending process and the compressor unit, supervises all system components.

The sending process has to be indicated on display devices. The device also has to provide information to find the
cause of a system malfunction. Customer-specific data such as the system's layout, target numbers, target names,
arrival signals, priority and special functions must be selectable on site without change or external reprogramming
of memory devices. A integrated uninterrupted power supply must provide the requested system back up time to
paste all date before shutting down the system, so after power source is providing energy again a automatic
system start will occur and the system status will get back in the operation mode as before. Chosen targets at
stored containers must be kept in the memory to proceed them automatically after power failure restart.

All components of the pneumatic tube conveyor are constantly monitored; the operating software has to be based
on action reaction control for any device. The status of each device can be checked by the master control unit. A
test program must be included to automatically check, move and supervise all of the system's devices, or specific
selected devices, by access via service code from the Station control panel.

During both normal operation and testing, all devices inform the master control unit that the selected functional
position has been reached. This ensures that this position truly has been reached. The system is designed in such a
way that it does not allow the unobserved pivoting of devices.

The system has to come with an efficient fault-clearance program that automatically recognizes operating errors,
power failures, time-out errors and other system errors. It also allows the system to continue functioning; there is
no need for the operating personnel to intervene.

It should be possible to redirect empty containers which have exceeded the pre-allocated distance limit to a
Station for maintenance to be carried out – new drivers to be fitted for example.

Carriers:
Carrier for hospital use should be with easy to operate swivel top mechanic, sealed load chamber, to prevent
contamination of tubing in the unlikely event of spill of transported goods. This must be realized only by closing
the sealed swivel top mechanism.

The "closed" position should be fastened in a lock-in position. The lid should be kept in this position by a spring
force and has to be equipped with seals. Furthermore the design of the container must be done in a way that an
open carrier can’t be sent. Any carrier has to be equipped with two free programmable data transponder, system

Transponders are used to electronically identify any carrier by a unique address and to offer the user automatic

PART 1 -- GENERAL

OVERVIEW
Should Furnish and install all equipment, accessories, and materials in accordance with these
specifications and drawings to provide a complete and operating Nurse/Patient

1.1 SCOPE OF WORK:


Should Furnish and install a Nurse / Patient Communications System comprised of nurse consoles,
patient stations, dome lights, entertainment cords, call cords, pull cord stations, emergency push button
stations, bed side-rail interfaces, pocket page interfaces, computer interfaces, printer interfaces,
wireless/telephone network interfaces and wiring as shown on the drawings

The Nurse/Patient Communications System should be installed initially in the specified areas and then
be expanded in the future to additional areas. Systems provided in the initial area shall have the capacity
to expand to provide seem-less service to the entire facility.

All necessary equipment required to meet the intent of these specifications, whether or not
enumerated within these specifications, should be supplied and installed to provide a complete and
operating nurse/patient communications network.

SYSTEM SUPPLIER QUALIFICATIONS

The System Supplier should be an Authorized Distributor for the product proposed with full
manufacturer's warranty privileges.

The System Supplier should have technicians who have attended and successfully completed the
manufacturer’s technical certification classes for the proposed system.
PART 2 -- PRODUCTS

2.1 QUALITY ASSURANCE

The nurse / patient communications system should be listed by Underwriter’s Laboratories under UL
Standard 1069 - 6th Edition (published March, 2001). Underwriter’s Laboratories shall be the only acceptable
NRTL for system listing.

2.2 HEAD-END CONTROL EQUIPMENT

A. Power Supplies – Should Provide ample power for control equipment, consoles, patient stations,
sub-stations, and corridor lamps. All system power supplies must be UL1069 listed as an integral
part of the core system. Power supplies which carry only component listings or are otherwise not
part of the core system UL listing are not acceptable.

B. Should Furnish as needed in each area a nurse/patient communications network hub controller. The
system as a whole shall be capable of supporting at least 25 hub controllers. Each hub controller shall
provide the following:
1. Support for at least 10 console clusters consisting of standard LCD consoles or annunciate panels.
2. Support for at least 150 rooms.
C. It shall be possible for network hub to act as stand alone controller should loss of network
communication occur.
D. System Audio – The system shall be designed to provide audio meeting the minimum standards
detailed by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association standard for nurse call system audio.
1. The system should utilize 25 Volt balanced signal distribution between head end equipment and
room stations.
2. Audio transmission between hub controllers shall be digital.

2.3 CALL ROUTING / PROCESSING

A. Call Routing – The system should support the routing of patient calls to any console, pager, phone or
other annunciating device anywhere in the facility or to any combination of the above regardless of
the location of the calling station. Calls may be routed and processed based on location, priority or
combination.
1. The system should support the ability to swing any individual room or any group of rooms by
touching one labeled touch point. Room(s) and consoles may be located anywhere within hospital
nurse/patient communications network.
2. The system should allow a console to capture an individual nursing unit, selected units, or all units
in hospital by touching single custom labeled touch point.
B. Call Priorities – The system should support a minimum of 200 unique, user-definable call priorities.
1. Each call priority should be reported via a user-defined mnemonic of up to 14 alphanumeric
characters.
2. Selectable call-in tone type, level, and corridor light behavior for each type of call priority.

2.4 STAFF REGISTRATION

The system should support staff registration. Staff members may, by pressing a dedicated button when
entering a room, indicate their presence to the system. Staff presence in the room shall be indicated by
illuminating the room’s green corridor lamp.
A. Users may review the location of staff members using an LCD Console and / or an Annunciate Panel.
B. If a call or service requirement is present in the room when a staff member registers into the room, the
system should automatically cancel the call(s).
C. If a call is placed from a room in which a staff member is already registered, the system should be
capable of automatically upgrading the priority of that call to indicate the need for staff assistance.

2.5 SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

The system shall support service requirement reminders. Staff members may, by pressing a button on the
console, initiate a service requirement reminder.
A. Service Requirements shall be indicated on the corridor lamp by a flashing lamp.
B. Users may review the location of service requirements using an LCD Console and / or an Annunciate
Panel.
C. If a service requirement remains unanswered for a pre-determined period of time, an overtime call
shall automatically be initiated.

2.6 STAFF FOLLOW

The system should support manual or automatic Staff Follow functions. When Staff Follow is enabled, call-
tones for a prescribed area will automatically be forwarded to the room station speaker where staff

members are located. Staff location may be determined manually by entering the room number into the
console or automatically using staff register stations. Pressing the call button on that station shall silence the
tones. When a new call is placed, the tones shall automatically be restored.

2.7 ROOM MONITORING

The system should allow staff members to audibly monitor selected rooms.
A. Manual Monitor – Staff members may listen in to a selected room.
B. Sequential Monitor – Staff Members may enter a selected group of rooms for monitoring. The system
will automatically switch from room to room allowing the staff member to sequentially monitor the
rooms.
1. During monitoring, the staff member may press a button on the console to stop on the
current room to listen longer and then press Resume to restart the sequencing.
2. The staff member may adjust the time that the system spends on each room.
3. During Sequential Monitoring, the number of the room currently being monitored shall appear on
the console.

2.8 ROOM PRIVACY

The system should allow staff members to place a room in Privacy Mode to prevent unauthorized or
accidental audible monitoring of the room.
A. Rooms may be entered into or removed from Privacy by staff members using the console.
B. When a room that is in Privacy is dialed from a console or telephone, the staff member may speak into
the room but they may not listen to the room.
1. Privacy in the room may be temporarily suspended to allow two-way communications by pressing
the call-in button in the room. When the conversation is terminated, Privacy shall automatically be
restored.
2. If a call-in is placed from the room, the call may be answered from the console as normal using
two-way communications.
C. The rooms in privacy may be reviewed from the LCD console.
1. During the review process, rooms may be removed from Privacy mode.

2.9 CONSOLES / ANNUNCIATOR PANELS

System consoles should be provided as indicated on the plans and drawings. All system consoles shall be
UL1069 listed as an integral part of the core system. Telephones, personal computers or other devices which
carry only component listings or are otherwise not part of the core system UL listing are not acceptable.

A. LCD consoles:
1. The LCD console should be a small self-contained unit, which shall not occupy more than 87
square inches of desk space. The console shall include an easy-to-read 4-line / 80-character backlit
LCD display.
2. The console should provide function selector buttons and a telephone-style 12-button dial pad.
Selector buttons may be used to access user-configured 24-function menu.
3. The console may display up to three incoming calls each with an individual elapsed timer
indicating how long the call has been pending. Ability to scroll to see additional pending calls.
4. While idle, the console should display the time of day. Time may be displayed in 12 or 24-hour
format. Time display shall be consistent system wide.
5. Console shall include capabilities for both open voice (speaker / microphone) and telephone style
handset. Audio direction (talk / listen) for speaker / microphone and handset may be
accomplished via automatic voice switching (VOX) or manually via a Push-to-Talk button.
6. The highest priority (or longest pending) call may be answered automatically by lifting the handset
or by pressing the Push-to-Talk button. Calls may be answered out of sequence using line selector
buttons or by dialing the desired room number.

7. Console shall provide independent volume controls for day/night call-in tones. A Mute button
shall be provided to temporarily suppress tones for pending calls.
8. The console may be desk or wall mounted.
9. The console should employ a modular quick-disconnect connector. It shall be possible to remove
and / or replace the console without removing power from the system.
B. Annunciator Panels
1. Annunciator Panels should be small self-contained units.
2. Each Panel will include 36 room indicator points. Each point will include two LED indicators and
space for labeling the point.
a. The LED’s should provide visual annunciation of room status. Indications will include
calls pending, service requirements pending and staff presence.
b. Variable colors and flash rates should provide differentiation of annunciation. A
Minimum of six distinct tone types shall be available for different types of calls.
3. Up to eleven expanders may be added to the panel each adding the ability to process 36 additional
room points per expander.
4. Panel shall provide independent volume controls for day/night call-in tones. A Mute button shall
be provided to temporarily suppress tones for pending calls.
5. The panel may be desk or wall mounted.
6. The panel shall employ a modular quick-disconnect connector. It shall be possible to remove and /
or replace the panel without removing power from the system.

2.10 CORRIDOR LAMPS / ROOM CONTROLLERS


Corridor Lamps ( 4-lamp style) should be provided as indicated on the plans and drawings.
A. Corridor Lamps shall utilize LED’s for high visibility, long life and low maintenance. Corridor Lamps
utilizing incandescent lamps shall not be acceptable.
1. The corridor lamp shall make use of multiple colors and programmable flash rates and patterns
to indicate pending calls, service requirements and staff presence.
B. Corridor Lamps shall serve as the hub for all room wiring. All field wire connections shall be
accomplished using modular connectors.
C. Any Corridor Lamp shall be able to function as a Zone Lamp that shall visually annunciate calls
from assigned rooms / stations without the use of a Zone Lamp controller such as a duty station.
D. The Corridor Lamp shall be equipped with a heart-beat LED (visible to service personnel) to indicate
that the unit is functioning properly.
E. The Corridor Lamp shall accommodate a paper label to indicate the room number. The manufacturer
shall provide, at no cost, laser-printing template software to create custom room labels.

2.11 ROOM STATIONS


Room Stations (single) should be provided as indicated on the plans and drawings.
A. Room Stations shall be equipped with:
1. DIN style receptacle(s) for call cord or pillow speaker.
2. Stations in areas requiring two-way communication shall be equipped with a speaker
microphone with level matching transformer.
a. Minimum speaker size shall be 3.0” / 7.6 cm
3. Reset Button to cancel pending calls. Reset button shall be able to cancel calls from other stations in
the room if desired.
4. Green LED to indicate that audio to the station is active.
5. Red LED(s) to indicate call placement from one or both of the call points.
6. Push call button with cancel button Patient station .
B. Room Station functions shall include:
1. Calls from dual stations should be annunciated independently.
2. Removing a call cord shall place a Cord Out call.

a. Cord Out calls may be cancelled locally using the Cancel Button. No Dummy Plugs shall
be required.
C. Room Stations should employ modular connectors. It should be possible to service Room Stations
without removing power from the system.
D. Room Stations should support inputs frosm local equipment alarm contacts (e.g. ventilator, IV drip,
fire detector, etc.) to notify console of local alarm condition in patient room. There shall be at least four
auxiliary call in identifications available.

2.12 SUB-STATIONS
Provide Sub-stations as indicated on the plans and drawings. Sub-station types shall include:
A. Pull Cord Stations - Pull cord sub-stations should be water resistant with a PVC (poly-vinyl chloride)
pull-cord, membrane reset button and covered call assurance LED. Unit may utilize remote cancel
button for ease of nurse cancel when pull cord station is mounted in inaccessible location (e.g. ceiling).
B. Dual Call Pushbutton Stations - Dual Call Pushbutton stations should be equipped with two call
buttons, reset button and call assurance LED’s.
1. Call Button shall be labeled to clearly define its function.
2. Call Buttons shall annunciate independently of one another.
3. Call Buttons shall be backlit for easy location / identification in reduced light settings and shall be
labeled to clearly define its function.
4. Reset button should be able to cancel calls from other stations in the room if desired.
5. Bottom Call Button can start a digital clock/timer is shown on plan, sub-station shall interface (10
mA, opto-isolated output) for count up timer feature.

2.13 PATIENT ENTERTAINMENT SPEAKER/CALL CORDS


Patient Entertainment Speakers / Call Cords should be provided as indicated on the plans and drawings.
All Patient Entertainment Speakers / Call Cords shall be UL1069 listed as an integral part of the core
system. Devices which carry only component listings or are otherwise not part of the core system UL listing
are not acceptable.
A. Patient Entertainment Speakers – Patient Entertainment Speakers should be provided for patient call-in
and entertainment system control / audio.
1. All control buttons including call button should be raised and textured membrane style. Buttons
shall be labeled graphically for easy identification of functions. Control buttons shall be Braille
embossed.
2. Control buttons shall include:
a. Single easy to activate call button
b. Television / Radio controls as required.
3. The TV control mechanism shall be analog or digital as required by the facility televisions.
4. Cord shall be 10’ / 300cm and shall be modular for replacement by maintenance personnel. A
sheet clip shall be attached to the cord.
5. Speaker (minimum size 2.25” / 5.7cm) shall be liquid resistant. Thumb-wheel volume control shall
be provided.
6. Call Assurance LED shall be integral to the unit.
7. Cord Saver - All Patient Entertainment Speakers shall be provided with a 15” / 38cm DIN
style Cord Saver.
8. Patient Entertainment Speaker Hanger - All Patient Entertainment Speakers shall be provided with
a wall hanging bracket.

2.14 REPORTING SOFTWARE


Reporting Software should be provided with the system to allow for recording and reporting of
system activity.
A. The Reporting Software should be installed on a Personal Computer which shall in turn be connected
to the Nurse / Patient Communications System.
B. Reporting Software should support real time system activity display.

1. Real time call waiting display with the ability to filter by call types and nursing units.
Call information shall be displayed and call-in tones shall be sounded.
2. Real time Nurse Communications Network service reminder display and staff locations.
3. Should the connection between the nurse / patient communications system and the
Reporting Software PC be lost, a warning signal shall be generated by the Reporting
Software.
C. Reporting Software should allow users to generate / print reports on system activity. Access to
reports shall be controlled based on user name and password. Reports shall be capable of indicating
call priority, room number and patient information, call placed time, service reminder set, staff
registration.

D. Reporting Software shall support a networked operation in which the Management Software
PC is connected to the hospital LAN. Users with access to the LAN can then generate reports
from local work stations.

2.15 CHASSIS FAULT, POWER MONITOR, AND SUPERVISED CODE


Provide a separate chassis short / power fault monitor to monitor integrity of network wiring for
short(s) to earth ground and to notify staff of loss of power. An audible alert tone shall sound if short or
loss of power is detected. Provide test button to test operation.

2.16 SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS


The system should provide continuous self-diagnostics. The system shall also support advanced
computer diagnostics by local or remote technical personnel.
A. All components in the system shall be continuously supervised for both power and signal to
ensure proper operation and in the case of system faults to aid in troubleshooting.
B. The system shall have the ability to diagnose all network active components, controllers, control
stations, and sub-station operation from any designated network data interface location, on or off
site. Network administrator shall be able to:
1. Review system faults reported (i.e. station failure)
C. The system shall provide the ability to automatically notify maintenance personnel via pocket
page in the event of a system trouble or failure.
